Great Wall — Restaurant in Spring Hill

RUDE. I made a $6 pickup order and our car broke down, so I called as soon as it happened (about 5 minutes later) to cancel it and the guy who answered the phone said "Well.... it's ready", as if I didnt know that was a probability. "Okay, our car broke down, so I have to cancel it". After a long pause, he said, "Well, if you cancel it, that means we have to throw it away". VERY unprofessional! That man REFUSED to cancel my order! I said "Well, we cant make it there, so I have to cancel it". he paused so long, I hung up. He called back immediately and I dismissed it. My boyfriend called him from his phone and tried to cancel it. I heard him ask them several times again, saying the same thing that I said. They took a large hot and sour soup and 1 egg roll order so seriously it seemed like they wanted to press charges! I work in a restaurant and cancelling orders happens on occasionally. More frequently, people never pick it up. What's more is our food is more expensive and we are ALWAYS forgiving. They acted like we just robbed them of a catering order. Writing this to genuinely be constructive and informational. And I’ll preface, it was NYE so we expected it to be busy. Time estimate for food to be ready was off by about an hour. Space was completely full with people waiting for their pickup past when it stated it would be ready. System needs to be more reliable. Everyone had to literally shout to get any attention to tell the staff their order number as they were all in the kitchen. Being busy like that is very stressful but addressing patrons is important. Nobody in kitchen wearing gloves and I could even see one cook’s drawers and behind hanging out of pants. Overall restaurant very dirty. Food was very salty and low quality. Chicken was almost all dark meat and the ratio of batter to meat was not good. Mostly all food came out of a deep freezer located in the lobby of restaurant. I work at a store in the same strip mall and I used to eat there all the time. I ALWAYS get beef and broccoli and it’s always tastes pretty meh. Well I stopped eating there for a few months because they caused an issue in the strip mall which flooded my work office. I ate there last night because of how close it was to my work and I noticed the food smelled super weird. It tasted meh so I just ate it anyways. Well I got home and noticed my stomach felt odd.
