Went to the DMV this morning at 5:30 AM so we were tired and starving. We staggered towards the restaurant and was so happy that it was opened before the advertised 10 AM
Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - the food was wonderful and we left full and extremely happy 46: simmered pig ear may sound like an odd dish to many but it's a comfort food to us. Covered in sichuan red oil, green onion, and cilantro, this cold dish is not greasy/oily at all but refreshing and a nice bite 25: beef roll or some places call a beef burrito. This is pretty much a scallion (green onion) pancake with an egg wrapped around beef slices, cilantro, cucumber, with a light drizzle of hoisin sauce. The wrap has a nice crispiness that compliments the tenderness of the beef. The cucumber adds a nice crunch and is refreshing that is supported by the slight sweetness of the hoisin sauce 19: spicy minced pork with noodles definitely has a kick that you can feel even as you eat the innocent looking tofu pieces on the side. The noodles had a nice chew and texture and the pork has great flavors even under the spice
Ambience: 4/5 - this restaurant reminds us of the Chinese restaurants in LA's 626. Simple decorations and to the point. Everything is about the food
Service: 5/5 - server was great and efficient. She transitioned smoothly between the languages as she assisted different tables
Value for price: 4/5 - the side dish of pig ear was quite pricey at $8 but the noodle and beef roll...
Read moreSo, at first the experience was below par... I asked if they had steamed buns. She said yes, then I asked how many steamed buns per order. She said 1 per order. So I ordered 3. (It was 3 of us total.) She came back with 3 bowls of steamed rice. I understand there is a language barrier, and I was speaking clearly, I even repeated the words "steamed buns" a couple times. She was visibly annoyed and upset when I told her I didn't want the rice, and I asked for steamed buns. They don't have steamed buns. So, with all that being said: I STILL RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! The Spicy Beef Tendon Noodles were amazing! Great amount of meat, veggies, and noodles. The broth was so tasty. The meat and tendons were super tender. It was easy to eat. It's not too spicy either. Normally, customer service is the biggest factor for my ratings, but this time, the rating is for the food alone. Even if she was rude, I thoroughly enjoyed the food. Ps. I still left a 20% tip. The guys who cooked my meal,...
Read moreTook a late evening walk down the Chinatown area of Las Vegas. Checked out a few places and decided to eat dinner here. I've been to Asia several times in my life. I make it a point to try noodle soups everywhere. This place was shocking. Closing your eyes and taking a bite of their food was like being in Asia. One of the best Asian meals I've had anywhere. I just curse the fact that I didn't have enough time to go back, but when I do go back to Vegas, I am definitely going back here to try more. In my photos are the spicy braised pork and the simple won ton chicken noodle. I also curse myself for not trying the signature beef noodles. I told the waitress and cook how I felt. They just smiled and said thank you. I looked them in the eyes and said "you don't understand... this is GOOD..." Although not on the strip or downtown, this is worth a rental car or an Uber. And oh yeah... this meal cost me $18! I would have...
