Shoo Loong Kan Hot Pot 小龙坎火锅 — Restaurant in Spring Valley

We immediately recognized this place when we saw the sign, as it is a well known restaurant in the hot pot sphere. I've had hot pot in both China and the US, and I think this was the most authentic Chinese experience I've had in the States.

The staff were working hard and took care of all our needs. Our server was the beautiful Lillian, and she helped guide us through all the options they offer. I don't think I've seen a 3-divider hot pot anywhere else I've been, so it's best to see that option. They have a good selection of soup bases to choose from.

The food items were overall good. With some of the vegetables lacking a bit in good texture. The meats were all phenomenal though.

The plaza is under construction on the outside and I look forward to how nice it will look when finished, you can only get up to Shoo Loong Kan from the west stairs right now. The inside of the restaurant was richly adorned, and since the plaza is older, the inside had some authentic charm to the woodwork.

(SEE EDIT AT BOTTOM) The price was higher than what you would pay at an AYCE style place, which seem to be the norm in Vegas, but I think it.makes you appreciate food quality a little more, plus I don't think there's a time limit like the AYCE places.

All around a great hot pot option if you want to really feel like you are having hot pot in China. Hot pot is an important part of Chinese culture and culinary history, and I highly recommend a trip to Shoo Loong Kan if you are a student of Chinese culture or going to culinary school.

LEGIT… been in the hospitality business my how life… not really wowed ever… even at Michelin star places… I hate that I usually can’t enjoy a perfect dinner ever, cause of how my service industry brain works. I give this place a 96% tho 😍

Inside is beautiful… the restaurant has a soul already. Everything is just genuine. Thinking this place might be the best HOT POT, I’ve ever had…. And I’ve had hundreds of variations.

The broths: PORK, TOMATO, and spicy Szechuan. All amazing… all top tier. Most memorable was either the tomato or spicy…. I actually cooked the meats in the tomato first, then finished in the spicy.

Service: friendly, attentive, GENUINE. My family had a blast… thank you for putting up with us 😇.

How they could have gotten 100%

The shopping center is under construction…. So nothing they could do about that…

One wow factor my wife mentioned to me at the end of the meal was…. She has been to Korean hot pot places where at the end of the meal… they blend all the left overs into a porridge Togo…. But over the top right…

The service is phenomenal, food is fantastic, and really made it feel like I was back in China! The immediate introduction into the menu and service along with tableside electronic ordering made the process very smooth and felt less transactional than other restaurants. Food arrived promptly, and was one of the most authentic hot pot restaurants I've been to. They pride themselves in traditional Sichuan tastes, and it did not disappoint! The oil and dry sauce packets they provide at the sauce bar also are excellent complements to the dishes, and when all was said and done, Phoebe did an excellent job coming at all the right moments, informing us of any other recommendations, and also promptly checking us out when we were finished eating. I would definitely recommend this place and the quality of food, service, and ample parking made it such a fantastic experience.
