We were misled by the positive reviews and decided to visit this seafood restaurant. When we entered, the place was completely empty, and the staff were chatting at a table while two dirty tables remained unattended for the entire half-hour we were there.
There were five of us, and we ordered different dishes. I personally ordered the bouillabaisse soup, which turned out to be extremely spicy and nothing like the picture in the menu. Be aware that all menu pictures are likely pulled from the internet, so don’t be surprised if what you receive looks entirely different. I asked the staff to replace the soup and make it non-spicy, which they agreed to. However, when they brought the new bowl, it had stains on the outside, and the dish was obviously the same soup, just repackaged. I refused to eat it and ordered a different soup, cioppino, which also disappointed me, as it was still spicy despite my clear request for "no spice."
My friend ordered a plate of oysters, one of which was slightly spoiled and inedible. Later, three of us experienced terrible stomach pain, which ruined our last evening in Las Vegas, spent curled up on the couch with cramps. It’s possible the creamy soup was expired, or something else was wrong that caused our severe discomfort and bloating.
We were presented with a bill that automatically included a $35 tip, which felt unfair considering the number of dishes we had to return due to the spice level and the server’s lack of attention to our requests. When we questioned the additional fee, the waitress claimed it was because we were a “large party” (just five people). We pointed out that there was no mention of this in the menu and that, in most places, such fees start with parties of six or more. After a prolonged discussion, the waitress reluctantly adjusted the bill, as the law was on our side. This left us feeling scammed and with a spoiled evening.
The only positive was the generous portions of seafood. But if you’re looking for non-spicy dishes or attentive service, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. Don’t expect the staff to cater to your requests, even if they...
Read moreThis is far from a 4.9 star place. Didn’t order the pan roast, but nothing we did order looked like it did on the menu, and everything was frozen. Catfish filets were somehow round long tubular bits…anything but a filet. Certainly not fresh fish. It was breaded and fried but still had a “slimy” texture to it. Came with fries. No lemon, no salt or pepper, no ketchup, no hot sauce, nothing else on the plate but fries and catfish “tubes.” We did get a small plastic container of “tartar sauce” but nothing could help this disaster on a plate that I was served. It says on the menu that if you request more condiments that they charge an additional $.75 each.
Everything tasted awful.
Also tried the “fish and chips.” Essentially the same as the catfish. Here’s the weird thing, after we ordered, a lady comes out from the back of the restaurant into the dining area, where they had this ice cream freezer display next to all these mostly empty fish tanks with half dead crabs and lobsters, and she pulls out four pieces of rock solid, frozen fish right in front of me, holds it in her hand, and takes it in the back presumably to cook for our order. Why is the freezer in the dining room? Who knows? We were offered soft drink options, no alcohol of any kind available, but again there’s just a cooler with cans of different soft drinks in it like it’s a display at a convenience store. The only thing on the table was a small plate with one napkin and one fork on it. Nothing warm or inviting or decorative. I certainly won’t be going back here. I’d give the whole thing 2 stars at most! Don’t waste your time or money here. The other reviews have to be sponsored, posted by friends or family of the owners, or just plain fake. The total meal for 2 people, with no drinks but tip included was just shy of...
Read moreHANDS DOWN 5 STARS! Awesome place! Their menu had lots of choices. But what caught my eye was the COMBO PAN ROAST!!! I am a big fan of Palace Station version of pan roast. I also noticed they had a great value deal of a seafood boil for only $45! It says for 2 but good have easily been for 4 of us.
Anyway I ordered the combo pan roast(of course) which comes with shrimp, lobster, mussel and crab. IT WAS BOMB. I ordered level 3 and it was so delicious, flavorful and creamy. I loved every part of it. My hubby is a big clam chowder bowl fan so he ordered that and he loved it. The bread bowl was crab, and garlic buttered on the outside. The clam chowder was piping hot and perfect.
Finally the seafood boil was extravagant. The sauce was good. If you are a boiling crab or hot and juicy fan, you will love this place. In my honest opinion, I like their sauce better. Also the best part is no long wait times like the other seafood boil places.
The place is spacious and clean as well. I will be coming back with the rest of my foodie fam. Am looking forward to the Maine Lobster.
Also the waitress Susan was very polite and diligent. She always made sure we were happy and satisfied.
The funny thing is we were supposed to eat at another restaurant originally that’s right next door and got curious and thankfully we did!
The only one downside in my husband’s opinion is the sausage they used in the seafood boil. It was more like hotdog.
Bonus is they have some boba drinks available. We tried the fresh fruit strawberry smoothie which was cool and refreshing. Love it!
Oh also, right before we left she told us the chef was a former employee at the Oyster Bar at Palace Station and had the original recipe so no wonder it was so good!
We will for...
