I love supporting new businesses especially ones that just opened for a month. However, the way management operated it is very upsetting, and I won't be back for a long time. I recently went around Nov 25 for a few days, consecutively , since their breads were a little different than some others so it was worth trying. Here is the issue. Within one month time frame, prices went up 50 percent on some items! There was one particular item I loved was their Latte. I went there many times and got multiple of them. It was 4.00 which is affordable and reasonable for a non specialty coffee house. Within a week, it shot up to 6.00! I don't know if they think customers won't know but it's 50 percent more and now it isn't worth it anymore to buy it. I'll rather save the convenience and go elsewhere if I want more speciality for the same price of 6.00. I understand inflation, and I run a small business myself but there is no way I would even consider raising my pricing Within one month of opening when customer retention is far more valuable than profits in the beginning especially one month in business. Unless you think your customers won't know? 50 cents is understandable but from 4 to 6. It's easily felt. Feels like a bait and switch on this one. Got me to try and then switch up the pricing immediately especially how competitive a bakery business in the valley as it stands. Very bad practice....

Ppang seems to be a hot new bakery and we were nearby so we came to check it out. We came in the evening but their pastries were still well stocked. The staff was nice but had a bit of a hard time communicating in English.
Almond Rice Brittle ($2.49): This was pretty interesting. I was expecting it to be very sweet but it wasn't for a brittle. It was tastier than expected so I would try it if you want something different.
Garlic Bread ($4.95): This a bag of bite size garlic bread which are perfect for snacking. Note that they're hard and pretty crunchy so I would not eat it if you have sensitive or loose teeth.
Pecan Bun ($5.95): There's a lot going on with this bun but it wasn't as sweet or as flavorful as I was hoping it to be. It's soft but that's about it; I prefer 85 C Bakery's buns over PPang's.
Passion Lychee Green Tea ($3) + Boba ($0.60): Wow, I have not seen a tea drink that's this cheap and it was pretty good! The boba did not disappoint too so I definitely want to come back to try their other drinks.
They only opened for 2 weeks and seemed to be figuring out their menu still. Once everything is settled, they'll probably become a popular place for people to come work/study given their spacious floor...
Read moreThis newly-opened Korean bakery and cafe on Jones near Spring Mountain is the kind of place that you can hang out with friends for a couple of hours. It's the spot to enjoy the wide variety of pastries and coffee drinks where there is ample seating; when we walked in the other day, we were immediately impressed with how large Ppang Co. is compared to most cafes. Grab a tray and tongs and peruse the selection of carbs. In these kinds establishments, I like to walk around first before I start to actually put anything on my tray so I can strategize about my selections. For this first visit, I really liked the salt bread, the Mont Blanc, and an almond brittle item. The hot Spanish Latte that I had was also a winner. There are currently "grand opening" prices, so just assume that it will get a bit more expensive in the future. For now, I can attest that my friends and I enjoyed the 2.5 hours we spent there, sharing pastries, imbibing caffeine, and conversing in a very pleasant atmosphere. Open...
