Rosallie's is a delightful culinary gem that brings the flavors of France to your table. From the moment I stepped inside, I felt transported to a charming café in Paris. The menu offers a wide range of French breakfast and lunch options, all of which are crafted with care and attention to detail.
Starting with the breakfast choices, I had the pleasure of trying the Egg au Gratin, a delightful combination of Paris ham, scrambled eggs, and mozzarella cheese served with slices of bread and their homemade garlic butter. The flavors harmonized perfectly, and each bite was a savory delight. The addition of the homemade garlic butter elevated the dish to a whole new level.
For those with a sweet tooth, the cinnamon roll is a must-try. It was freshly baked and had just the right amount of sweetness. Each bite was soft, fluffy, and filled with a delicious cinnamon aroma. Paired with a creme brulee latte, it made for a delectable and indulgent treat.
The bustling atmosphere at Rosallie's is a testament to its popularity, and after tasting their pastries, it's easy to see why. The pastries displayed in the windowed case are not just for show; they are incredibly tasty. The moment I tried one, I was blown away by the quality and flavors. Considering the exquisite taste and quality of the food, I expected the prices to be steep. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that everything was very well-priced. Rosallie's offers a fantastic value for the high-quality ingredients and authentic French flavors they provide.
The menu at Rosallie's is extensive, catering to different preferences and dietary needs. Read moreThis is not a 5 star restaurant by any means! It is just your run of the mill French bakery. I have been to many and this is by far the lowest quality. The breakfast plate we had was fairly bland and we could not enjoy it at all due to the awful atmosphere. The almond croissant was decent, but again, the atmosphere was AWFUL. I lived in Washington DC and for years went to Paul’s, a real French bakery, for brunchor early afternoon meals with children and it is a tradition for many families and business associates alike there. We stopped at Rosallie’s because I was craving that very high quality, authentic French food as well as the warm loving atmosphere. I did NOT find it here. We stopped by at around 2:00 in the afternoon and drove way out of our way to visit. However, after just 5 minutes of standing in line my husband actually walked out and went across the street to eat elsewhere because he said the atmosphere was too cold and unwelcoming. I stayed behind with our toddler determined to share this experience with him. My toddler is disabled, has been through a lot in their life and was well behaved until we paid for the food and sat down to wait for the food. My toddler got confused and thought we were not actually going to get any food to eat and began to whine. I was trying to comfort him quietly and explain but a woman started loudly complaining and then she stood up and came over yelling at me and saying how dare I destroy the atmosphere by bringing a child into a place where people went to relax from work. I do not know if this was the owner or just another customer. But I was attacked by a grown woman throwing a temper tantrum much worse than my toddler. This of course only made my child more uncomfortable as well as myself. A couple of the other customers came to my defense but the staff said nothing. I will point out that they had Children’s books on a bookshelf in the corner so it was a little ironic. But maybe they need a sign on the door saying no children welcome and giving them directions to one of the many wonderful restaurants in the area so they do not traumatize another mother and child. We will never make the mistake of eating there again. **I also want to mention our toddler has been to many, fancy, restaurants in downtown San Diego and other big cities and never had a single complaint- it was not that our child is this awful child. So if you have a child that occasionally acts like a human child- stay away and take your business elsewhere with better food...
Read moreIt was a Saturday morning 11am during December. Parking was madness. The lot is small and shared so we had to wait and there were some impatient drivers.
First off, it was packed! All tables were full and there was a line to the door. The vibe however was festive and bright. Everyone was happy and smiling, as it should be. There were friend gift exchanges going on, families having breakfast, old friends meeting up, everyone was wearing Holiday colors and there was a live singer doing his thing while dressed as Santa.
The line actually moved quickly enough but it gave you time to admire the cuteness of this place. All the Holiday decor and treats along the way made the wait go by quickly. We chatted with other patrons, drooled over the pastries together and took plenty of photos.
There are menus on the wall in line and a few in front right when you walk in. When we made it to the front ordering was quick and efficient. We actually ended up getting the last 2 hot drinks for the day because their coffe/latte machine stopped working or something like that. The lady informed us that they have someone coming to fix it but until then, they do not want to serve any if their coffees at subpar level. I was thoroughly impressed and glad we got our lattes since it was a very chilly day and we had to sit outside.
We tried to grab a table indoors but none were available at te time and we had 6 people with us, so we decided to sit outside. Each one of us would take turns stalking tables while we were in line and outside until we finally found one big enough to squeeze in to indoors. Outdoors is decorated as well and there's aplenty of tables. Sadly, they were all dirty. We saw a lady coming out to clean them but she just looked and walked back in just as our food was coming out.
Soon after a couple of us got our food, we found the table inside and happily chatted and enjoyed our delicious food! Everyone had a lovely time. It's always fun to bring new people here as the charm of this place always bring a smile to them.
The crowds finally stopped coming in and things would down by noon. Not to self to either come early or after noon. Before leaving, I went back to order my to go bag of pastries to bring home, a must.
I love coming here and hope they stick around forever, definitely recommend during the Holidays with friends or family. Unless you sit outside, I don't recommend this place for small children as they can't run around in here, it's loud and I didn't see...
