I went with some friends just to get a dinner. We got our drinks and I got an OJ but was only told after I asked for a refill that there were no refills. Didn't offer me an alternative. Then we get our food - she came back to confirm my order twice and another friend confirming her pancakes. One of my friends got the wrong side when she got mashed potatoes the woman thought she said "red skinned potatoes." I ordered a burnt end sandwich and got roast beef on a sandwich missing half the ingredients. Which was cold while the Mac and cheese was burnt as heck and looked old. One of the onions from my burger was cooked into my other friends cinnamon pancakes so watch out if you have allergies - they don't clean their grill. My third friend had the worst experience. She ordered chocolate chip pancakes and ended up with blueberry pancakes. She wasn't bothered since she likes them and ate them. Two bites in she started hard gagging and spits the food into a napkin. She said it tasted rancid and spoiled. When the waitress finally came back from watching tv (which she did while cooking too) my friend told her the pancake situation. The waitress told her sorry that the blueberries looked like chocolate chips. That is insane! Either she's higher than a kite or those blueberries are so out of code that they're mushed. Either way keep her away from food. When we went to pay, she still tried to charge my friend for the food she didn't eat and charged her for the wrong food item too. My friend told her she wasn't paying for it a second time and the woman reluctantly removed the item. Overcharged for bad food none of us finished with staff that were honestly horrible. There were two couple besides us so it wasn't a busy store.
Save the money and eat at the gas station instead. It's honestly going to be better than the food poisoning we will probably...
Read moreNot sure if the person cooking had ever cooked food before today. I originally ordered a Brisk-it-all-melt which looked pretty good on the menu. The description on the menu was that it consists of slow-smoked brisket burnt ends, crispy diced bacon, two eggs, sharp white cheddar, Diner Q sauce and pickles on grilled artisan bread, and served with a side of wavy cut fries. But what they brought me was nothing like it. They gave me two pieces of toasted white bread with two slices of some type of gross looking yellow cheese(it literally looked like the government version of Kraft singles), some brisket and a few pickles. It looked pretty gross. So after I sent it back they threw some eggs on it and brought it back to me. At that point I decided to just order something else. STAFF WAS GREAT BTW! The service was good and friendly. Although I made sure my waitress knew I knew it wasn’t her fault and that this was clearly an issue with the kitchen. And I tipped her well for her time and multiple trips back to the kitchen. ANYWAY, so I just ordered hash browns with caramelized onions, bacon, and a biscuit and gravy. And to my absolute amazement, even that was poorly cooked. Onions were hard and mostly raw, and the hash browns were also undercooked. Bacon was very hard(not burnt but tough to chew) and cold. Biscuit was also not cooked how they normally do. Normally they at least throw it on the flattop with some butter to warm it up and make it crispy, but this one was not. It Wasn’t quite doughy but not cooked all the way either. Anyway, not sure what was going on in the kitchen, but yeah the food was not how dennys normally makes it, at all. They didn’t charge me for the melt I originally ordered and I didn’t bother mentioning how bad the other food was. I just ate it to relieve my hunger and got out of there. But like I said,...
Read moreNow I see why this place has a low rating. I go there at 4:45 in the morning, 6 TVs on, tons of lights, fans, etc. There was a young black girl at the front entrance talking to a security guard from the truck stop. She ignores me as I walked up, so I go sit down myself. After a couple minutes I gave up on her and went to look near the kitchen, I saw another young black girl mopping. She looked at me and kept mopping, so I sat back down kind of shocked. Finally, the security guard disrupting the lady's job left when the only customer finished eating and went to pay. She looks over at me 25ft away an yells at me, I'll be there in a minute. So she walks towards me, then goes right by and goes back to the kitchen. You could hear them giggling and carrying on...finally she comes out with a menu and asks, did you want to see the menu...throwing it on the table. I asked her if they were open, she said yea. I said it doesn't seem like it, and I got up an left. I was thinking to myself, these are the 2 girls gonna be cooking my breakfast, maybe refilling my coffee....and wanting a tip? No thanks...think I'll go somewhere else this morning. Went to another Dennys 3 days ago at the same early morning time about 25 miles from here, still in Houston...and had a completely different, opposite experience. Amazing how such a fine business with all them costs and 45 tables has such poor workers running the place. 0 stars given. Edit: So I went to Waffle House like a mile away right after I walked out of here. 4 workers there greeted me as I walked in the door. I sat down, ordered, and had my food in the same amount of time that it took to get my menu at this Dennys. These Denny workers might want to be sent to Waffle House down the street so they can see how real restaurants and real restaurant workers...
