Authentic AF and incredible in everyway! The newly opened Noodle Kitchen is what the northside has needed for years! I am so happy for owners Vasilia and Iris, seeing a brand new restaurant packed with happy customers in their first week of being open. Well deserved, because this is the real deal.. handmade to order soup dumplings, regular dumplings & bao of all sorts and hand pulled noodles by Chef David.
We ordered a bunch of meni items, and if you know my son and I, dumplings and char siu bao are favorites and a must order. Guess what guys, we don't have to drive to Houston, Bellaire or Katy to get our fix.
The Soup Dumplings are phenomenal! We got the Xiao Long Bao (6) Soup Dumplings. We chose Pork over chicken. We were both so happy eating these, we had smiles on our faces. We knew we were in trouble, because we are probably going to be here quite a bit.
Next up was the Colorful Combo Dumplings (2Pc Chicken, 2Pc Beef, 2Pc Veg). All of them were excellent, but the beef was our favorite with the chili oil sauce to dip them in.
Got an order of Siu Mai, a dim sum favorite (pork and shrimp steamed dumplings). Pretty good stuff. You can actually see Annie and Fang their dumpling and bao makers through a window.
Another star of the night was the Cha Siu Bao(4) (Pork Barbecue Bao). I was transported back to my family's favorite dim sum restaurant back in Hong Kong when I was 10 years old. Winning to have Bao of this quality so close and in my home town. I might have had a little tear of joy eating this perfect Bao.
The owners currently are the waitstaff, so if you go, please please be patient with them, like every restaurant needing to hire more bodys. The two of them were running with a purpose, friendly and I could tell they wanted to do their best. I have to let you know that this is not fast food, but well worth the wait. The food quality and freshness is outstanding.
We ran into a few other regular foodies too from the group. Another Tomball restaurant owner was there, and she helped the two young owners bus and wiped down some tables.
I have to come back soon to try more, because they have hand pulled noodles. We got to see the Chef David in the kitchen and got an amazing video of him doing his craft. The head Chef is Wen and can't wait to try more of his recipes.
We were both so impressed with this place, they are already a front runner for Nick's Local Eats Best New Restaurant Spring, TX. Definitely the best Soup Dumplings in the Spring /Woodlands area and 100% the best Char Siu Bao around!
Congratulations to Vasilia, Iris and staff. You all are going to rock this town! We have new dumplings...
Read moreSo, picture this: It's a wild Saturday night, and after surviving what can only be described as an action-packed afternoon, the fam and I decided to embark on a culinary adventure. The mission? Chinese takeout from an uncharted restaurant territory, a place where no noodle has gone before in our household. Spoiler alert: Maybe we should've asked for recommendations or consulted a fortune cookie, because what unfolded was a culinary catastrophe of epic proportions!
Now, let me preface this by saying, "With all due respect, Noodle Kitchen, this was NOT the noodle party we were expecting." We ordered an ensemble cast featuring Long Bao Dumplings (Pork), Beef Fried Noodle, Soup Dumplings, and Orange Chicken. But alas, it was a performance that left us with more disappointment than a failed magic trick.
The Orange Chicken tried its best to salvage the evening, earning the title of "best of the bunch" by default. However, even this noble dish couldn't escape the clutches of culinary chaos. The crispy bits were staging a mutiny, abandoning ship faster than you can say "chopsticks," and the chicken pieces had a peculiar chewiness that left us questioning if we were dining on poultry or some mysterious hybrid. The meat was so white that the jury's still out on whether it was real chicken breast or a clever disguise of minced-up poultry with a breadcrumb coating. Oh, and did I mention the unexpected hickory-flavored encore? Because apparently, our Orange Chicken decided to put on a smoky show on the backend. A taste adventure, to say the least, scoring a 3.8 out of 5 on the "What did I just eat?" scale.
Now, let's talk about the Beef Fried Noodle, or as I like to call it, the BFN – Big Food Nope. One bite into this dish, and it felt like I was chewing on culinary disappointment. It's as if the chef got carried away with the seasoning, sprinkling it on like confetti at the end and forgetting to let it mingle with the rest of the ingredients. Gritty, dry, and a beef cameo that was as bland as a high school graduation speech – not my idea of a flavor party.
The Bao Dumplings and I decided to keep a safe distance from each other, judging by the fam's reaction. I mean, if a picture is worth a thousand words, their expressions were a Shakespearean tragedy.
In conclusion, Noodle Kitchen, you've earned a one-way ticket to the "DO NOT EAT" list for 2024. May your culinary adventures be more delightful than mine. STAY FED, my friends!

Read moreTL;DR - Legit chinese food, Lang Zhou style. Correct atmosphere. Waitstaff pay attention to party size & adjust food timing on purpose. May not jive with american culture. Will check in again a few months later.
It just recently opened up in the area and is the only dumpling/bun restaurant. We had high expectations for it and they did not disappoint!
The restaurant is still starting up so it looked like it still had a few rough edges to fill out. However, the tables were very nice and had a glass top. The chairs also were of good quality tho no cushion. A large wallpaper/picture showing chinese cooking was on the wall put a bow on the chinese themed chairs and tables.
My wife & I ordered the xiao (something) bao - soup dumplings-, vegetable bao, and the hot boil noodles. I noticed that for groups 4 and smaller, it appeared that the waitstaff were watching and timing things: they brought out one set of steamed entree at a time. Only when the set was finished did another one come out (around 5-7 min later). It forces you to slow down, share, and enjoy each one separately. For groups 6 and larger as well as groups with children, they brought out all the food at once.
The soup dumplings tasted great. A spoon was included to help scoop up and eat the dumpling... Something i didnt get at other places i ate at. The broth in the dumpling was more watery-less viscous but extremely flavorful. The dumpling dough wasnt very thick... Meaning it was most likely made by hand and not store bought. The vegetable buns had a very fluffy dough and lightly seasoned veggies inside. The dipping sauce for the two dishes had some amount of vinegar as per the regional style of the restaurant but was very balanced and worked well with their entrees. The final entree, the noodles, were absolutely delicious! There was a very good balance of veggies and noodles. There was a clear taste of the hot oil used to cook it, vinegar, and other flavors which all were very balanced and can...
