June 2, 2025 Update: I appreciate the owner’s response. However, I would like to clarify a couple of items in the response from my perspective. The order I placed through Grubhub was for delivery 2 hours hence and Grubhub delivered at the time promised. I do not know where the breakdown occurred in terms of food preparation to pickup time - neither here nor there, as the food received at my end was below par. Secondly, I do not “yell” ever at staff or whomever. Not in my nature to do so - have dined the world over and have provided numerous reviews, never have yelled and never been accused of yelling! As such I do not appreciate my character being thus impugned. I do provide feedback, both positive as well as constructive, as my reviews show. Finally, life is too short to hold a beef about anything - happy to visit the restaurant, shake the owner’s hand, partake of the food and revise/update my review as warranted. Thanks to the owner for the prompt response and offer to visit!
Original post: Based on my experience and in my opinion. Read all the reviews and decided to order from this restaurant over two others in the area I was considering. Food was delivered through Grubhub and it was extremely disappointing! There were only 4 tiny pieces of eggplant and some cherry tomatoes on the Davide, and 4 small slices of Zucchini and a few cherry tomatoes on the Zucchini Cream and Confit. The pasta dishes were dry and tasteless! Photos provide ample evidence. The Chicken Alfredo was definitely better than the other two - at least a few more pieces of chicken, but…. Called the restaurant immediately upon receipt to provide feedback, but was politely brushed off by the person answering, essentially stating that Grubhub inflates the prices by 33% and it is not the restaurant’s fault. Even discounting that fact, the quantity of toppings on offer for the restaurant’s price of $9.99 was ridiculously small. The person on the phone just apologized and said there was nothing he could do! Not even some kind of a consideration for a paying customer! $57 for a thoroughly disappointing dinner! Come on; while I am very empathetic toward food costs and other pressures that restaurants face (and I have dined all round the world, including in Italy), I too have worked extremely hard for my money! Felt completely insulted by this experience with the restaurant. Won’t be...
Read moreWe ordered the margarita pizza, buffalo wings with ranch and pasta (cacio e pepe) tonight for dinner.
The pizza: let’s start with the crust- it’s a hand tossed thickness which usually I am not a fan of. I prefer thin crust because the dough is heavy. This crust while thick wasn’t overly heavy. It also was cooked well. I put my slice in the air fryer at home but I’m weird and like my food almost burnt. The rest of the family loved the crunch on the edges but softness of the crust. The cheese tastes fresh and the sauce is amazing. My husband struggles to find pizza that he likes because “American” pizza uses overly sweet sauce. This sauce is tomato based and I don’t taste anything else. It gives the cheese and crust the opportunity to shine.
The wings: my husband prefers them crispier and with more sauce. Overall he liked them and said he would order them again. We also like the fact they are marked as halal.
The pasta: I have never had this type before and I loved it. Next time I want to try their Alfredo but I will for sure keep this one as an option. I can’t explain the taste though other than good - just try it.
Packaging: Pizza was in your typical pizza box Wings were in a little box with paper Pasta was in a hard plastic bowl with clear top lid. I appreciate they do not use styrofoam Togo containers.
Customer Service: My son picked up the order and he said the guy (he thinks might have been the owner) talked to him and explained their freshness concept and chatted with him. He said the inside was small and nice. He said overall everyone was nice.
Overall: 5/5 I think the prices are great and portions are good. The pizza definitely stole the show and there are NO leftovers. I also really appreciate they have halal options. We will definitely order from here again when we’re...
Read moreI heard about Slice of Venice some time ago from my colleagues and have wanted to visit it for a while. We finally got the chance when we made a pit stop on the way from Conroe to Houston. I was surprised to find that this is the only place in the Houston area where they offer pinsas. Last time we had them when visiting Italy 10 years ago.
We bought: Chick Parm Smile Panini (which is Tomato sauce, mozzarella, eggplant, parmesan, chicken, basil) Alex Pinsa Romana: (Prosciutto di parma, fresh mozzarella, arugula, balsamic vinegar) Bolognese Spaghetti. All three rocked, but the Spaghetti ended up being the star of the show. Imagine the best mozzarella cheese stick you've ever had, but if it was pasta. All pastas are made from scratch. Everyone who tried it gave it 5 stars. I'm glad I was finally able to experience the greatness first-hand. My wife loved that there are so many vegetarian options. They have gluten free vegetarian pizza, which we ordered to go,mushroom and spinach, goat cheese, artichoke; there are meat options too. The gluten-free pasta is also a fave of mine. Most pastas are ready in 3 minutes. Meatballs are mouthful of love, pizza is out of this world. My mother said she felt like she was back in Italy eating at the bistro. They also sell a variety of homemade sauces, along with desserts, like tiramisu. So essentially, it's your one-stop for dinner to eat or to order. The owner and her staff are incredibly warm, and always provide recommendations. Top notch service, hence, now I am a...
