You typically expect sub-standard service at a buffet but last night was some of the worse service we have ever gotten. Right out of the gate as we're paying and checking in an employee was practically crying because, who I'm assuming was a manager would not let her go home early, the manager asked her to seat us and the woman walked off and ignored her. The manager finally had to seat us. In typical fashion we immediately went up to the buffet and came back to our seat to find we were short one silverware pack for our party of three. I'm not sure why they make you pay extra on weekends for the "premium" meats or whatever, none of that was available to us, no shrimp skewers the entire night, nobody was cooking steak until we were about ready to leave and then it took forever to cook to medium rare. The server took way to long to refill our drinks, we timed her, glasses set empty for over 15 mins the first refill. No other refill was given for the rest of our visit, over an hour. I'm typically very understanding of how busy a place is and the workload of the server, but in that last hour we actually watched her, because we were waiting on a steak or a drink, kinda just walk between the kitchen and the dining area, as if to look busy but not actually do anything. The section we were in was a ghost town halfway into our visit. We left without giving a tip, not my usual modis operandi, because I realize what minimum wage is for a tipped employee, but I feel the restaurant could give her the difference between the extra cost of the meal for the better meats on weekends...

I gave this location another chance. This time for breakfast. Oddly I had the exact same waitress as last time. Though this time the tables were clean and her uniform was clean.
The meal was great! My faith in Golden Corral is partially renewed.
My one complaint on this visit was that breakfast was supposed to last until 11am. They started changing to lunch menu at 10 minutes til 10am. It made me feel rushed while eating from the breakfast items.

My trip started with their app. It showed their lunch price, Monday thru Saturday, as $8.69. When I got there I found the price on Saturday to be $11.99.
I then had a hard time finding a place to sit as most of the empty tables were full of dirty plates.
I had two sets of silverware at my table. Neither had a clean spoon. Both sets included a dirty spoon.
The waitress came by after I was done with my first plate and drink. Her apron was disgusting. It had food slopped all over it.
Many of the food items were either non-existent or had been sitting way too long.
I went to see about some steak. The cook had a pan on the grill with multiple types of meat on it, all laying in grease. Disgusting!
I went to get a clean plate and found one with food on it. I set it aside and observed an employee putting it back with the clean plates.
Where is the health department when you need them!! This is just a few things that I observed.

Read moreThe owner and the manager are very rude and prejudiced against Asian people. I have just been told that I can not use the bathroom to brush my teeth for over two minutes, even after I have explained to them twice that I need to follow the dentist’s suggestion as a brace wearer to brush my teeth each time I have a meal.
A couple of weeks ago a female manager followed me into the bathroom, and asked me to stop brushing teeth. Then I explained the situation to the owner, who normally work in the grill part and told me that I can just ignore her warning for it is just a personal opinion.
The second time they gave me the warning occurred a few minutes ago, when they told me some customers complained they could not use the sink , which is not true, for the other customer told them that she can use one of the other sink no one is using when the manager tried to confirm the situation.
If the store does not welcome brace users, please make it in public by notification and post it online and on the door of the store.
If the store believe the brushing of teeth for a brace user over two minutes is against their policy and qualifies the warning to call the police, as they did just now, please notify all the customers of this amazing policy online.
Bias and prejudice against some group of people does exist in life. We can ignore it and continue our life one day we ourselves become the victim of...
