This was probably the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. I was so excited to try this place since I live nearby, but sadly it’s a complete flop.

The first red flag was the tortilla chips.. they were hard and stale. I still had high hopes for the food though since I’ve had stale chips at a decent restaurants before. I ordered the elote and 3 chicken tacos. My husband ordered birria tacos.

The elote : the corn was white and had no flavor and the kernels were so small it made me feel like the corn wasn’t fresh and may been close to going bad.

The chicken tacos: the chicken itself was flavorless and seemed like it was boiled and then microwaved. The chicken had no sear at all.. not a hint of oil or seasoning. This is why I figured they boil the chicken. The corn tortillas tasted like Aldi tortillas.. the whole taco was piping hot when it came out .. almost as if it was microwaved.

The birria tacos : the waitress mentioned they ran out of consume so my husband got the tacos without it. The meat was so dry I honestly don’t think the meat is cooked in any type of broth.

Service overall was decent but I’m really really surprised this place is still open and running. I’ve had better tasting food at Chipotle...

This food was just trash. Dont go here, go to El Limon or even Taco Bell. They forgot to include all the ingredients listed until I asked (did not have avocado as it was supposed to be on there and sour cream) the enchiladas were below average and there was a decent amount of fat in the al pastor. Mole sauce was very underwhelming. I love a good Mole sauce but this is not it. This is trash. Supposed to be 4 enchiladas but it was so broken up and a mess that they could have gotten away with 2 or 3 which is crazy. I don't even know how many I actually got but from the structure, i assume it was less than 4 tortillas. Again, the Mole was so bad. Seemed like a can of mole, they should be ashamed to call themselves "authentic mexican."and you should Just go to El Limon which is So much better in every way. This place won't last. El Limon is much better and soo good. Taco Bell is hetter that this garbage. El Limon is also about 3 minutes away from here, so don't...

Only tried this place once so far. Birria tacos were ok, they really stuffed it with meat. They have a lot on their menu, different fajitas, burritos, platters, and more. I tried beef and cheese filled fried dough patties (I forget the name) and they were decent, I feel like the dough should’ve been tastier and maybe add something else to the filling, I think the cheese was cojita maybe? So it was crumbly and not very flavorful (I could be wrong about the type, it was white and crumbly) but they weren’t bad. Mexican street corn was good! Very tasty, and honestly the main reason I decided to try the place so that was cool. Overall it was a decent experience and I would definitely get again to try...

When I went here for the first time, I was already impressed. The atmosphere was nice, had a Mexican feel to it. The food, though, made me know this was authentic Mexican food. When I was given chips & sauce with my meal, I was given a green sauce, and an orange sauce. Both sauces were spicy. I knew right then that this place was not just imitating Mexican food, like Chipotle. I ordered the Torta de Esperanza sandwich. To give a brief description, this was a sandwich packed with chicken, egg and pork. The jalapeños in it gave it an extra kick. I was very happy with my meal, and the service. I will be back.

Came here last week because I was in the area and decided I wanted to try birria tacos for the first time, on a whim. A Google search led me to La Esperanza. The young lady at the counter greeted me warmly when I arrived (and we chatted a bit againg before I left-she was so kind). The birria tacos were absolutely delicious and flavorful. They tasted better than I expected. Great food for the price! I will definitely be back to get birria tacos again, and to try other items on the menu!

Move over, El Limon! This place is the bomb and I only wish there were more spots like this closer to Media. The food takes a while, but it’s worth the wait. Super flavorful and obviously prepared with love. The chicken tinga is tangy and sweet, the birria is delicious although the Mexican oregano is a bit forward. Burritos are tight and the tortas are muy auténtico! And OMG the elote is a must have as a salty little side treat.
