We went here on a Monday night for an impromptu birthday celebration for a 6 year old. Upon arriving, my girlfriend greeted me at the door, after my son and I got our hands stamped. It was her son's birthday and she had arrived about 30 minutes prior to me. She informed me that the staff at Chuck E Cheese would not let her bring in her son's birthday cake because she didn't register to have a birthday party there. So now, in order to celebrate her son's birthday, we were going to have to go back to her house for cake and presents. It was already 7:00 PM and my 3 year old son had school the next year. I knew he would be getting in bed a little later than his 7:30 bed time, but I didn't expect it to be terribly late. We ended up not being able to go to her house bc it was so late by the time we left Chuck E Cheese.
After speaking to my girlfriend for a few minutes and asking her how to purchase points to play the games and food, I went to stand in line with my 3 month old daughter. (There is a lady standing at the front door stamping your hand, but she didn't offer any information as to what to do or where to go after you walk in.) I waited in line for a good twenty to thirty minutes because there was only one person helping people. When I got to the front of the line, the first thing the lady said to me was "If you are ordering pizza, I just want you to know that we are out of pizza sauce." Now, my girlfriend had already ordered one pizza for her three children and her and her boyfriend. I was going to order 1 or 2 more for my son and I and a couple of our other friends and their children. I asked the lady if they would be getting more sauce and she said no. How does a place known for pizza run out of pizza sauce???
I had to settle for ordering chicken nuggets and bread sticks, which my son ate neither of, so he ended up not eating dinner that night. He wanted pizza because that is what I told him we would be having for dinner. I also asked for a children's drink and an adult drink. The lady charged me for two adult drinks, yet she gave me one adult drink and one children's drink. Sure, I only paid an extra few cents, but I am a single mother and every dollar matters.
While walking around playing games with my son and my girlfriends children, I noticed that there were a lot of machines that did not work. I scanned my card to play the game, the points would come off, and the game wouldn't start. I lost money every time this happened. I paid $30 I believe for 120 points and I probably ended up losing about 20 to 30 points.
At around 7:45 PM, the pizza that my girlfriend ordered arrived...an hour and thirty minutes after she ordered it. They apparently had pizza sauce, when she placed her order. When the pizza came out, there was hardly any sauce on it, it was like eating a white pizza. The pizza probably would've been pretty good, if it had sauce on it.
Before we left, I went in to the bathroom to change my children into their pjs because it was well past their bedtime. I used the handicap stall. THE BATHROOM WAS DISGUSTING. All around the base of the toilet was a big pile of piss, which had been there for awhile bc it was sticky and dry...not liquid. My son is still potty training, so I couldn't let him sit on the toilet bc there was pee all over the seat of the toilet as well. I had to change him standing up bc the baby changing station was disgustingly dirty, along with the floor. Sometimes, I can just lay a blanket down on the floor and change my children on that. This was not an option. I had to change my daughter in the back of my car due to the bathroom being so disgusting.
This was the first time that I have ever been to Chuck E Cheese as an adult. I believe I was there as a child but I don't really remember, nor was I looking at it through the eyes of a parent. I will never return to this Chuck E Cheese. I still have points left on my card, so I will try to go to a Chuck E Cheese at a different location and try...
Read moreI had a bad experience here and think I should warn others about coming here. I haven't been to this location in a very long time (we usually go to another location closer to our house), but we were in the area and decided to check it out with our daughter. Bad idea. It was super crowded. I can understand it was a Saturday, but there was no social distancing going on at all and the place seemed to be filled way past capacity during these times of a pandemic. I saw people with no masks on, especially many children without one. I immediately regretted steping inside fearing for our health. To prevent total disappintment for my little girl who was upset when I told her we should leave, I agreed we would stay 15 minutes and then leave (it's a good thing to carry hand santizer.. otherwise leaving would have been the only option). We played about 10 games or so, and none of the machines would dispense any tickets. NONE! I didn't even want to track anyone down to resolve the issue. I'm sure they had to know all the machines weren't dispensing tickets. I guess it was so crowded that they just didnt care. I just wanted to get out of there ASAP anyway. I finally just had enough and decided it was time to leave and save our points card to use another day at another location where there is more vigilance and covid precautions in place. I won't be back at this location, and don't recommend it either unless risking your health is worth it.
As a side note, I also want to add that the staff was not on top of security either. There was no one at the front to stamp wrists upon entrance or to check wrists as people were exiting. This is a safety measure I have seen at every other location, but here people were coming in and going out as they pleased. Everything just seemed out of control and a total mess at...
Read moreLoved this place when I was kid. When I first went it use to be called Jerry (his cat) and Chuck E. (Cheese). 1984 the only prize the had was a set of earrings of his cat Jerry and Chuck E. Cheese and the girls would buy both and place Jerry in the right ear and Chuck E. Cheese in the left ear. If you won a lot of tickets you could cash them in for more tokens. The earrings cost $8.00 each! There was one he had on Lansdown Avenue in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania until 1988 (where the Planet Fitness is at today), but sold that to expand the one here put more games and tables, plus he added the animatronics so kids can have lunch or dinner theater with their pizza and drinks and excetera. The other prizes added in 1985 were dresses and suits you wear for there or birthday parties or other special occasions or to your church, masque or temple. They also added dress shoes too in the spring time and soon as before summer came around he promoted you can gain extra tokens if you did great in your class work or homework and also if you did well for each marking period and also the end of the year to celebrate that your graduated to the next grade! In 1986 then he added stuffed plushed animals of Chuck E. Cheese. He changed the name officially before the spring of 1985. Jerry was his orange Manx Cat with orange stripes and Chuck E. Cheese was his friend that he play with and chase around the inside porch he lived in a hole. One day he noticed that he was having a hard day finding anything from outside 'cause the leaves had fallen and it gotten colder so he decided to give him small cubes of cheddar cheese. When he decided to play with Jerry he also rewarded him when he decided to go back into his home in the hole near the entrance of his front indoor...
