I visited this restaurant because I've never heard of it. I checked the menu online first and while I try to stay away from fast food, I decided to give it a try. As a Michigander, I rarely see Olive burgers outside of Michigan. I never realized that this particular burger was invented in Michigan. It's in most restaurants, but I have noticed over the years that outside of Michigan, almost no one has heard of these delicious burgers.
Beef-a-roo had a olive burger. Alright, I'll try it. Let me tell you something. That was a horrible horrible sandwich. That brings shame to a olive burger. First off, the olives need to be mixed in with the mayo. The swiss cheese that's on it does no justice at all. It made for a gross burger. 0/5 for this. Some small changes, and you could definately make this a winner. For starters, don't use overprocessed green olives. There was absolutely no flavor to these at all. Just because the olives are green doesn't mean they're going to be delicious. Get the ones that have good flavor. That by itself can improve the sandwich.
I got a loaded baked potato. They forgot the sour cream. Then, I find out the baked potatos are microwaved. I don't like microwaved food, it changes the flavor, and you can definitely tell when a potato has been microwaved instead of baked. Yuck. The bacon was that bagged bacon pieces that you can buy from the grocery store. That stuff is chewy and gross. It also has artificial bacon flavoring in the bacon. 0/5.
So, on to the third item. The Wild West Beef sandwich. Ok, the onion ring wasn't fresh, but this was a decent sandwich. Could have used a little bit more sauce, but overall, I enjoyed this sandwich. I'd come back for this for sure. So while the other two items are definitely a miss and a "never want to experience again", the Beef sandwich is truly a 5 out of 5.
Take this review with a grain of salt. I can be rather picky sometimes, and this week in Missouri has been a week of disappointments because most of the food has been terrible. But I learned a couple months ago that I just don't care for the "southern cooking" style apparently.

I have eaten from this specific location at least 5-6 times, and I have mixed feelings. The food, when prepared correctly, is really unique and good. Their southwest avocado turkey sandwich is a favorite of mine as well as their cheese curds. I recently had a cherry shake from here and it was wonderful! I like the Gluten free bun option for my wife, and the only thing I don’t like is the olive burger.
That being said, I’ve had WILDLY different experiences here. One time, I was in the line and on my way in 5-10 minutes with a perfect order. Another time, I waited 20 minutes from ordering for my one burger and fries. On my latest visit, we sat in line for 20 minutes and didn’t receive our ordered medium fries. Normally I wouldn’t care but their fries are nearly $4 and I wanted what I paid for. So I pulled back around, waited another 5 minutes to get to the order speaker, told them about my missing fries, and the person on the speaker said, “okay, so we CAN help you, but it’s going to be a wait.” I said fine and waited another 15 minutes to get to the window. They handed me a small bag and I was on my way.
When I got home, I opened the bag to find that I still didn’t get my fries, but I got someone’s southwest burger. I felt bad, but it was already late and my family was hungry so we split it. The burger in the bag seemed to be cooked to medium as well (which I don’t mind, I love a little pink), but I know that can be off putting to some.
This business is still getting its legs under it, and I’ve generally had a good experience, but I haven’t figured out when the best times for service and consistency are. I would say they are worth supporting, but there is...
Read moreI was hungry but only had time to pick up some fast food. I was going to head to Wendy's for a burger but I have been meaning to try Beef-a-roo so I took this opportunity!
I ordered a bacon double cheeseburger, a large sweet potato fry, and a large cheese curd. The young woman running the window was very pleasant and friendly which I appreciated! It took longer for the food to be made than I expected, especially since I was the only person in the drive thru and there was only one car parked in the lot, but I figured that meant they were making everything fresh. I got my food and headed home, a less than five minute drive.
First impression upon unpacking my food was that the portions were not worth the price. I paid $18 for a fast food meal that didn't even include a drink. The sweet potato fries were cold and limp, which was disappointing, and the cheese curds were cold as well. My burger was still warm, but it was so greasy that the bottom bun was dissolving as I ate it. The two parties were cooked completely differently - one was well-done while the other was very pink.
Taste-wise, the burger was decent, the fries were alright, and the cheese curds were meh. Kinda disappointed, I'm a major carnivore and had been interested in trying this place...
