Fazoli's — Restaurant in Springfield

I stopped in at this location for lunch today and had a wonerful experience. Before I even ordered the cashier notified me that they were out of breadsticks (which is a bummer because they are so good). He apologized and said they were offering customers a free slice of pizza or free cookie as compensation. I was gob-smacked, as this is not the type of customer service I am used to in 2025. An acknowledgement and apology for a menu item being unavailable is not something I typically receive from a fast food restaurant, let alone the offer of a free item as a replacement. I feel that this location went above and beyond epsecially since the item that they were out of is free with the purchase of a meal! It doesn't take much to make customer's feel appreciated and the acknowledgement of their oversight and free cookie went a long way with this customer. On top of all this, the customer service was impeccable, the food came out quickly and was prepared well, it tasted good, the restaurant was clean and well stocked, and the lunch special was priced very well for the amount and quality of food received. I will certainly be visting this location again and I am confident that the $2.99 free cookie will be paid back in spades with my future purchases. A job well done to this location, its crew, and...

Firstly, I hadn't eaten at this restaurant, in probably over a decade! Let me just say, the food & service have VASTLY improved!

Restaurant Decorum & Cleanliness:

The interior isn't overly exciting, but meets the standards of being acceptable enough to eat in. If you're looking for a fine dining experience, you might look elsewhere. The men's restroom was clean, & picked up.

Food & Service:

I ordered one of the $6.00 pick 2 meals. My selection was a side Caesar salad, & Ravioli w/meat sauce. The food was brought to my table. Promptly. Even with a lunch rush, my food came quicker than expected. The ingredients seemed fresh, & the quality was above average. A gentlemen even grated fresh parmesan for my food. Later, another employee brought more breadsticks. The employees seemed friendly & professional. That's a plus! Especially when dining out.

I was there yesterday. I got my order of buffalo chick. Macaroni and chicken fetticini alfredo. My husband and I both had salads for the side and the portion of the salad was very small not even worth ordering. The noodles on our orders were undercooked and stuck together. I used a butter knife to cut it apart. The chicken in our order was terribly dry and reminded me of dog food. I called Liz the manager and explained the order and that I would be in the next day for a refund. I only asked for the entrees to be refunded bc we did eat the salad and the drinks. I live out of town which is what I told her and had to come back in Springfield for a refund and she could have refunded the salads and drinks for the hassle. I would have done this for a customer if I was in management or offer to remake the food. The employee and two managers were very unhappy with me wanting a refund and one rolled her eyes when I said she could have refunded the whole order.
