Godfather's Pizza — Restaurant in Springfield

Stopped here on a road trip. We decided to dine in at the buffet. The food was hot which is rare at most buffet restaurants! Excellent customer service from the cashiers, to the cooks and busperson! Great atmosphere and decor in the dining area. Bathroom is a little outdated and dingy. I had the combo pizza & taco pizza which were very delicious! The chicken not so great. The mashed potatoes and brown gravy were good. The also had green beans, corn and mac n chz that I tried which were not bad. The salad was mediocre. Mainly the ranch dressing, very bland. I should have tried the Italian dressing. Alot of toppings to choose from though. I was soooo stuffed I did not get a chance to try the desserts- which were hot & fresh and smelled soooo good! My sister had the fried liver & gizzards which were also on the buffet. She liked them apparently. Even though we got there around 7:30pm and the buffet closes at 8:00, they were more than happy to bring out hot fresh food for us and even a custom pizza that my sister requested! Very good busperson, and cashier and cook! Excellent customer service! Definitely will be back to visit this place soon even though we live an hour...

It's been 18-20 years, but i knew the Godfather and his pizza goons were still shaking down pizza joints. So on my way back on a long 6 hour drive, Godfather's Pizza called and told me to stop in. I admit I was nervous, left the GF pizza game and had not been back to this life style.

As soon as I pulled up in my black town car and saw Big sal, Mikey, little tony, Mad Marvin and 2 toes tony, I flet at home all over again. the pizza was GREATTTTT! The sauce, the meat, the soda, the smell, the crust, oh the reunion to see the gang at the buffet again after so long.

We sat and ate, and ate but good times had to come to an end. The boyz had a job to do and I had to get on my way. If your driving through stop and eat here and GF pizza, this is an icon for sure. The taste, the service, the people and the price was all great. till next time fella (when I say fellas I mean the pizza's on the buffet lol)

I love this place. I grew up in Springfield, IL. I am proud to say the flavor is amazing. That being said, I am sad to say the service has horribly declined. Since 2022 I noticed a decline in quality.

I had had times where I called and they told me they were closed at 8pm (even though they were closing at 10pm). I also had times where the employees were drunk and fighting when I walked in to pick up my pizza. I literally just called in to place an order at 7:00pm and asked if they were still taking orders. The person tried to reject me by saying they are not taking chicken orders after 8:00pm/ Who is taking a chicken order at a pizza place after 8:00? The employees at these places are laughable at best.

I love this place. I will keep coming back as long as I keep getting quality pizza. I just don't want the ordering procedure to be slow sloppy. Come on GODFATHERS, GET...
