Habaneros Mexican Restaurant is an absolute gem for all spicy food enthusiasts. My recent visit left me thoroughly impressed and satisfied. I opted for their street tacos with the steak filling, and I must say, they were nothing short of amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, complemented by a medley of fresh toppings and a soft tortilla. Each bite was a burst of Mexican goodness that left me craving for more. Being a heat lover, I couldn't resist trying their spiciest salsa with a side of nachos. Habaneros certainly lived up to its name as the salsa they served was a fiery delight. The intense heat was beautifully balanced with complex flavors, showcasing the skillful blending of ingredients. It was a challenge for my taste buds, but one that I relished and thoroughly enjoyed. Apart from the food, the ambiance of Habaneros Mexican Restaurant was vibrant and inviting. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The prices were reasonable considering the quality and quantity of the dishes served. In conclusion, Habaneros Mexican Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic Mexican cuisine and enjoys a spicy kick. With their delectable street tacos and the mind-blowing spiciest salsa, this place has won my heart. I can't wait to return and explore more of their tantalizing menu options.

I’m not sure what’s going on with the haters on here, but this place is really, really good for just opening. There are always hiccups on an open and in my humble opinion, they are crushing it. All the food was above average, and the service was great. The pork enchiladas will be a go to for me for sure, and the Cantarito Margo was delicious. Definitely don’t read the bad reviews, they are baseless, and not based on the quality of food and service and should be ignored. I’m sure this place will become a Springfield staple. Awesome job guys! We will be back without a doubt! I do understand that the credit card processing fee is frustrating and I think they should change it by just raising the price of the food, then no one would know, but they are trying to offer a benefit to cash paying customers. If you don’t want to pay the credit card processing fee, then bring cash, more and more businesses are doing this because of the ridiculous costs of running cards.

Me and my family came here for a birthday celebration, I've always liked the location and the previous restaurants that were there so I assumed it would be great. The food was good, I ordered the churrasco (see picture), which was pretty good. The problem wasn't the food, it was the service. They took a LONG time to serve us, but I took it as if it was because they were full... Which I debunked when I went to the bathroom and seen they were about 40% full. They completely forgot about 2 of my family members, which they denied, and rushed to get it prepped and delivered but about 20 min after everyone else got their food. The server, kept making mistakes on the food we ordered, bringing the wrong thing, bringing the wrong soda, even charging the wrong amount on the bill! For what this place is and where is located, I expected better. Do better.

Tonight was our first time heading to Habeneros! Far from the last as well! Our table of 4 shared the Ceviche to start, and each of us ordered different entrees! The items we had were the Taco Salad, Molcajete Habnero, the Flautas (Deluxe), and the Tacos De Barbacoa! Everything on our table was fantastic! I've lived in or around the Springfield area for almost 25 years, with a few years spent in Southern Texas. My opinion is that there is not another restaurant in the state that serves Mexican food as authentic as I've had here today. We all shared our entrees with one another, and every dish was fantastic! The Ceviche was spicy and full of flavor. The Taco Salad(shredded chicken) was delicious and light. The Flautas were packed full-to-bursting with delicious meat(s). The Barbacoa Tacos with birria were good enough to make everyone's eyes close with delicious reverence! The last but certainly not the least was the Molcajete Habanero. I don't have the right words to describe how incredible it really was, but I will try! The Steak was cooked perfectly, the shrimp was seasoned exceptionally, the chorizo, and chicken were seared and cooked perfectly, the grilled cactus was delicious and refreshing, the onions were crispy and deliciously cooked by the warm molcajete, and the bits of Oaxaca cheese made the presentation and delivery of this dish so beautiful, appetizing, and perfect that the Escoffier Chef among us received this dish with their mouth agape with awe and wonder. We were so nervous about coming here and trying out "another Missouri attempt at Mexican food" and we could not have had our expectations exceeded any more than they have been today. The atmosphere(Music and Art) was incredible, and the artwork on the walls reminded me of being back in Texas again. My partner(a native Texan), was excited beyond words that there was finally a place to eat in Missouri that serves fresh and authentic Mexican food. 5/5 Stars really doesn't do this place justice. A Springfield staple like no other! The service was also fantastic and even the thirsties patron at our meal was never wanting for a refill! Please be aware, but not scared off by, the fact that on every bill to be paid by card of any kind, there will be an additional service fee of 4% added as the first item at the top of your check so bring cash to pay if you're not interested in that convenience fee! I want to end this absolutely glowing review with the only problems our table had with the entire experience! The regular table salsa is very bland and the rice and refried beans served as sides with most entrees are the weakest part...

The beef nachos come with queso dip. They were quite tasty. The beef cheese chicken enchiladas were just ok. The refied beans were so bland. I only took two bites but the rice was decent. Just typical Mexican rice. The issue here was the service. Table of 14 so yes that's a challenge however why pick a job that will require you At times to have a large party that will be a bit chaotic? Our servers attitude was awful. The look on his face each time he came to our table told us he would rather be anywhere else but there. Now I can't say for certain about the other end of the table but on our end, we were pleasant to him. Yes sir, please and thank you, etc ... The only thing I can think for our side that agitated him was us asking menu questions. This was our first time here and customers are going to want to ask about what they're getting. Like "Are these nachos with queso dip or shredded cheese?" Lol. cause I do not like shredded cheese nachos lol The table recieved wrong items, were overcharged on things. My mother told the waiter she didn't like the fajita meal. It was HORRIBLY bland compared to what we're used to in Texas. Well the waiter snatched the plate and ran off. No apology, no what would you like instead. Eventually she was given another menu to see what she wanted instead The waiter then came back around and placed something on the table and ran off just as I was trying to ask for a couple of small plates. My nachos came and a couple family members wanted some but of course they need their only plate and we weren't given any. When the waiter walked off I gave it a minute for him to return but he didn't. I got up to ask another person and I hear some say that's poor restaurant etiquette to ask another waiter to do something when you're not their table but I felt like well it's just plates. So I asked a lady that was just standing there for a couple of small plates. She said ok. She came back and put 3 BOWLS on the table...?????? I didn't say anything to her or our waiter but i thought to myself how in the world did she think l said bowls??? I did end up tipping our waiter 20% for my own ticket because despite his very poor attitude, he still did what was necessary for a table of 14 where management apparently decided 1 waiter for all of...
