Went to Lindberg's last night for the Uke 66 Beatles sing along.

It's not just food, drink and entertainment at Lindberg's it's a full sensory experience of the highest order. If you don't let yourself be immersed in the atmosphere you've denied yourself something special.

Starting with the tavern itself, with its old wooden bar and fixtures, the decretive high ceiling, the dim lighting and original art on the eastern wall the place raps you in a shell of character and comfort. It would be difficult not to feel at home. That by itself would be enough, but it only gets better. The drinks are done right and brought to you by lovely waitresses that move through the crowed room like Formula 1 drivers, taking orders and keeping glasses full, always smiling, polite and professional.

And the food. Oh my god the food. Conceptualized, created and cooked by a poet chef. My advice is to order it the way it comes, do not customize or have them leave off something you think you won't like because, trust me, you're not going to improve on this man's vision. I've ordered many entrees with several ingredients that I would never eat anywhere else and have never been disappointed. The flavors and seasoning combined in just the right measure and ingredients that I would never imagine would work on the same plate all come together in a perfect marriage that will delight your palate and make you want to run into the kitchen and give the cook a hug.

Is that enough to bring you out to Lindberg's? It should be, but if it's not that's cool, cos there's more. They've always got some unique entertainment or show going on, last night was a Beatles sing along brought to us by Springfield's own Uke 66 amateur ukulele club. That's right, a tavern FULL of people of all ages singing along to Beatles songs with ukulele accompaniment, ( You can't even make that up.) and they NAILED IT! On stage or in the crowd, a good time was had by all.

I'd like to say thank you to the staff at Lindberg's for creating and keeping this shrine of...

Please don't take my experience for the average here. My friend and I ate here tonight. We walked in and a band was setting up. Apparently they were going to start playing at 8 it was 7:15. We had no idea they were going to be there and likely we wouldn't have come here had we known. We just saw good food and reasonable prices and good reviews. They had a cover charge and we said if we eat outside and finish our meal before they play can't we skip the charge? He agreed and we sat outside. There was another group outside already. The waiter took our order including one beer and then asked me for a card to start a tab. I told him I that seems odd and he said it's because of the band. I said why do I need to do that since I'm here, outside and I'm ordering food and plan to leave before they play. He insisted so I gave him my card. Then he comes back a min later and says they are out of the beer I wanted so I asked for my card back. He said do you want me to just run the bill? Mind you, we have not gotten any food at this point. I said fine. So he brings put the ticket. That was the last time we saw him. Two different waiters brought our food. My friend asked one of them to refill his soft drink. We never saw our waiter again after he brought the bill. The other waiters were very kind . The burger was great, the poutine was ok and their homemade katsup was terrible. I haven't left a zero tip in many many years but when you do nothing but take my order and make me feel like you are expecting me to bounce before paying, I'm sorry but that's what I had to do. This is my first time in Springfield and it left a pretty bad taste...

Sadly, I cannot rate the food here, because we never received it. We arrived at 6 pm and there were only a few other customers there. A waitress/bartender took our drink order and food order. We both ordered the Lindburger and she said "that's easy, I'll get it put in for you". She came back shortly with the beer that my wife had ordered. About 40 minutes later, we started noticing other people (who had arrived after us) were getting food. We waited 10 more minutes, then they started bringing burgers out to people that were 20 minutes, at least, behind us. We stood up, put on our coats, and the guy that had been working the door came over to us. I told him that we never got our food and we'd like to pay for the beer and leave. He said he would take care of the beer. We walked outside. My wife went back in and asked how long it would be on the food and was told that the order was never put in.

I understand mistakes happen, but we sat there for almost an hour and were never offered a refill or another drink. So, it's more than one mistake, it was just being completely ignored.

Had they said "I'm sorry, can we get the food ready for you now? Or even to go?" I wouldn't be posting this. I would have still paid, but probably not tipped. Even a discount for another chance later, or some effort of showing...

Great local gem. I am not a fan of the C-Street scene because I think it is mostly overpriced and overhyped. But with that said I though the service was great and the food pretty good. I have seen many post on social media and always wanted to try it. Not disappointed that we did. I had the Diablo (smash) Burger and it was DELISH!!! Loved the fried jalapeños and the mix of chorizo and burger was really good and unique. And they did not skimp on the fried jalapeños, they were falling off. They would be an awesome side dish or appetizer. They might be I just didn’t notice. The fries were ok, I think they could have been cooked more. They were seasoned well but some were not as done and all could have been crispy and they would be delish. Service was good also. My wife had the daily special of SGF cashew chicken poutine. She said it tasted good but didn’t really like the soggy fries. Yes we know that is what poutine is but she wanted to try it. Maybe if fries were crispy to start. But it’s the adventure, right. Overall it was good but just just like everything on C-Street a tad bit pricier. But I will be back. Well done Lindberg’s Tavern.

Had the absolute best and most wholesome dinner experience here tonight with my 6 year old son with autism and my best friend . While I used to frequent here years ago, since having my son I had been hesitant to bring him in due in part to my experiences thus far at other places with a high energy, loud, and sometimes chaotic child. Right off the bat, everyone was so accommodating and didn't bat and eye when we came in with said high energy child. In fact, they encouraged it! They told me he could play the piano I was prying him off of (worried we would get in trouble) and I think the ONLY time our sweet waitress Brittany seemed bothered; was when I kept apologizing for him- she reminded me without even saying this ; let kids be kids. Every time she could interact with him, she would, which she didn't even know- gave me a minute to eat, or finish telling a story, or just a moment to breathe without being worried that he was being too loud- and that alone , was so kind. The band members talked to him (he was so interested in drums) and they even came to tell me about their experience , and a local program in town🥹 12/10 can't say enough good things🥹

I'm going to give my honest review. The Bartender / manager was a really cool guy. The establishment itself has a really cool atmosphere, the textured ceilings are a nice touch and I like the location. The food: I ordered a patty melt which is a double smashburger on rye bread I believe with thousand Island dressing grilled onions and grilled mushrooms? It came with thousand island dressing on it but I won't fault them for that because I forgot to ask to have it removed. The sandwich was very delicious, and what made it better was their house made ranch dressing. I chose to get poutine as a side because I have heard of it but I've never tried it. I have to say it was very underwhelming. If it had been hot and fresh it probably would have been much better, but unfortunately it was cold and the french fries were soggy. I don't know if that's the way it's supposed to be made but I would have preferred hot, fresh and crunchy french fries. All in all the experience was good, the place was fun, the staff was friendly and the food was pricey but okay.
