Rocco's Pizza South Springfield — Restaurant in Springfield

Read my review in full before deciding not to eat at Rocco's based on my rating - they make very delicious pizza! This was my first time at Rocco's. I ordered a 10" The Veggie (Green peppers, onions, mushrooms & black olives), Regular Crust, add Pepperoni, add Tomatoes, add Basil, add Spinach. Order # 71116161, ~$17 subtotal pre-tax pre-tip.

The pizza I received, while it was amazing, was very unsatisfactory and a far cry from what I ordered. It was basically made as a pepperoni pizza and seemingly 1-3 small scrap leftover pieces of other ingredients/toppings added (referring to ingredients of The Veggie & the additional ingredients/toppings). Example: should have green peppers, so instead of adding a balanced amount of green peppers only 2-3 very small cut pieces (close to square shaped) we're added. Some ingredients seemed to be missing altogether.

For what I received vs price point, I received a very delicious but problematic pizza (very underwhelming/missing toppings). I hate to compare, but the equivalent pizza that was made at Hy-Vee Sunshine was far better in everything except deliciousness (but was competitively delicious), and I can get 2-3 of these from Hy-Vee (and a couple inches larger in diameter) for the price of one 10" at Rocco's.

This is why I'm giving a rating of 1/5. I would give 4/5 if the pizza were made with the requested toppings to what would be expected by the customer. 5/5 if price point were competitive with other places that makes pizza almost...

When I called to place the order, the kid on the other end just said "South National." Very unprofessional, I asked for a delivery order and he said that you have to live within 3 miles and have an order over $15.00. I said okay great, and I started to give him my order. He stops me and asked if I know for a fact that I live within 3 miles. I said yes, I'm 1 mile away. So I gave my order, which I kept having to repeat, as he seemed very distracted. I was told the pizza would be here in 30-40 min. That was an hour and 15 min ago. I tried to call and check and was told they didn't have my ticket so it is out on delivery so my pizza should be here soon. The guy on the phone also did not seem concerned. Not impressed with the service at all. Called back just now to speak to a manager and he said they just now left with the order. Issue was not resolved. It's now been an hour and a half, no pizza and I already paid for it. No refund was offered. I was told next time I want something to call and ask for him directly and he'd take care of me. What about this experience makes him think I will ever call back? The pizza finally...

First visit was a small takeout cheese pizza just to try out the new place on the way home. Not bad. Second visit was to take our grandson out for his birthday. He really enjoyed his cheese pizza. Also tried a small meat lovers and a small BBQchicken. The meat lovers was anything but that. There were large strips of mystery meat, and a few pieces of pepperoni and sausage. In total there was hardly any meat at all. The BBQ chicken was ok but nothing to write home about. Third and last visit was a family lunch. Grandkids wanted cheese pizza, of course, daughter wanted Alfredo pizza, one wanted a meat lovers calzone, and one wanted spaghetti and meatballs. The meat lovers calzone was meaty and delicious Except for the burned top crust that had to be peeled off. Grandkids actually left pizza behind as it was pretty tasteless, spaghetti was sitting in 1/2 inch of water with a little sauce poured on top, and alfredo pizza was just ok.
