Whataburger — Restaurant in Springfield

I've felt conflicted on the star rating to give. Most of my experiences at this location have not been good, -BUT- I had an exceptional experience the other day and that employee deserves special recognition. The 3 stars is my average experience rating at this location.

The employee named Christopher Eakes, however, is an absolute rockstar. If I were just reviewing that one experience, it would get 10 stars. Christopher delivered one of the best fast food service experiences I've had in a decade. This guy went so far above and beyond. He helped us customize an order at the kiosk, communicated perfectly about needing additional time to cook it, brought it out to us, and even held the door open for us as we left. He did this while working the drive-thru, cooking, and helping other customers at the counter. Management was nowhere to be seen. He mentioned to us that he had only worked there a month but you would have thought it was much longer than that. While we were there, Christopher even used his phone to translate with Spanish-speaking customers. How freaking sweet (and savvy!) is that?! I hope management is treating him well because if they don't, he will 100% get poached by another company. My husband and I both have worked in management and were so impressed. Visited tonight on our way home from a long road. Trip made the decision while in the drive through to go inside to stretch our legs. The lovely voice on thr other sign of the intercom did not make me feel stupid or silly for deciding halfway through to go inside. He just simply yeah, kept the ambiance fun and inviting and cracked a joke and told us to come on in. When we came in, it was beautiful and it smelled. So crisp and clean You couldn't even tell that food was being prepared there. It smelled so good. We used the bathrooms. And they were immaculately clean It made me feel like you know. I was in a high end hotel lobby bathroom. The sweet heart of a person who had previously greeted me through the inner palm, greeted me right at the door with such a captivating and inviting smile, he made us feel like we were celebrities. It didn't matter that my daughter was in pajamas that didn't even match, from an earlier sippy cup mishap. He is an absolute gem of a person. We will be coming back. And whoever was in control of the music selection, they was keeping the vibes rollin. Give these people a raise i don't even know what they make just send bills. We love you Shawn. You've been...

I’ve tried Whataburger three times now and each time was a bigger disappointment. The first two times burgers were the definition of “blah”. Lots of buns and lettuce. Not much burger. The most recent time I ordered a milkshake in the drive through. The lady asked if I wanted ketchup with my order. I told her no, I just got a milkshake. She hesitated then looked at me again and asked if I wanted ketchup. I literally asked “why the hell I would need ketchup for a milkshake” LOL. She looked at me with a blank stare on her face like she was oblivious. She looked at my receipt and verified how much I paid. She then asked if wanted ketchup again. I told her no again and reminded her that I only ordered a medium milkshake and that I didn’t need ketchup. She proceeded to hand me a bag with food in it. I told her this wasn’t my order and all I wanted was my order, which wasn’t what she handed me. I handed it back and she spoke to a coworker. She finally handed me my milkshake (without ketchup thank God). I had to drive forward in the drive through and stop and try to wrap my brain what just happened.
