That picture makes it all look so yummy, right? WRONG! My husband and I were celebrating or 23rd anniversary and we wanted to tryout a new restaurant, so here we are. Prior to coming, we studied the menu. We drooled over the pretty pictures. We read the reviews and we were sold! We are foodies, so we were so excited to try something new. What a disappointment it was. Let’s start off with the appetizers. I ordered the lobster bisque. With meat $15, w/o $6. First off, it came in a little tin cup about the size of a coffee mug. Ok fine, I let that slide. What I could not let slide was the amount of lobster that it contained
.very minimal. Next we had fried green tomatoes. Hubby liked them, but they tasted more like fried pickles to me. Moving on to the salad
just blah for me, nothing spectacular. Ok, now for the main course. I ordered the catfish poor boy
very tasty (which is why I gave 2 stars). It would’ve been nice if they had put a bit more catfish on the bun, but I digress. The sandwich came with either fries or homemade chips, I got the homemade chips
big mistake! They were so salty that I only ate one. So, I ended up only eating the lobster bisque with the non-existing lobster, the catfish poor boy and 1/2 of a fried green tomato. The lobster macaroni was $18 and was a very small portion. On top of that, it was flavorless with barely any lobster in it. Now onto hubby’s entree. MAJOR disappointment! He ordered the lobster boil. Looks beautiful and delicious on the picture, right? NOT! The pieces of lobster that he was able the get out of it was minimal. The corn was old and overcooked and the biscuit was burnt and hard (zoom in on pic). The waiter (Jacob, who was awesome btw) apologized and had them to bring us fresh corn and another biscuit. On to the lobster. When he tried to open the main part of the lobster, a bunch of green juice and green stuff oozed out of it. gross We finally called the manager over. He asked her what the green stuff was, she said it was the guts. We’ve ordered our share of lobster and we had never seen anything like this before. She was nice and she tried to show him how to get more meat out of it. When he finally was able to get more meat, it was rubbery and undercooked. At this point, he was furious and so was I. Our anniversary dinner was not so great. He wanted to complain to the manager and I told him that I’d just leave a review instead. $200 down the drain
Needless to say, we regretted going and we...

I want to start by saying that our waitress was lovely and did a great job - no issues there. Also, for context, my husband and I look fairly young (we are in our early-mid 20's). Peacemaker was my husband's favorite restaurant in St. Louis and the food has always been fantastic, hence why we visited the restaurant recently to celebrate his new job. During our visit, we were accidentally delivered the wrong food, which was supposed to go to the couple sitting next to us. Normally, I wouldn't think twice about this; stuff like this happens all the time at restaurants, and we got the correct food not long after. However, the older couple seated next to us (who also got their food a slight bit later) was wined and dined the rest of the night because of the mistake, receiving a verbal apology from the floor manager, two desserts, and two glasses of a fairly expensive dessert wine at no extra charge. Meanwhile, a man seated on the other side of us during the meal was belligerently drunk and arguing with his partner, making for a very uncomfortable experience. Again, that was not the fault of the restaurant, and we would not normally have any expectation of special treatment because of anything that happened during the meal. However, it was incredibly rude to serve the couple sitting so close to us that we could have been sharing a booth almost $100 of free food while we hardly got the time of day, especially considering we had an arguably worse experience and were more understanding with the staff. My husband and I never even received an apology from the manager for the mixup. It is not appropriate to treat customers so blatantly differently. We may have been around 20 years younger, but we spent around the same amount on our meal tonight as the couple we were seated next to (nearly $200). We will be seriously reconsidering if we ever return to this restaurant after...

Ah, the sounds of the sea were calling my name as I worked diligently on my audiobook, weaving a tale of intrigue and mystery in the quaint town in Maine. But my mind couldn't help but wander to the days of my youth, sailing the waters of New England with a ragtag racing team. As I reminisced about my days as the designated "rail meat" on the boat, I couldn't shake the craving for a delicious lobster roll.

Now, you may be thinking, where on earth could you find fresh lobster in landlocked St. Louis? Fear not, my friends, for the answer lies in the Benton Park neighborhood at Peacemaker Lobster & Crab. I strolled into the restaurant, greeted by a friendly host who led me to a cozy table near the raw bar. Little did I know, there were more types of raw oysters than I could count!

After much deliberation, I settled on a classic Maine-style lobster roll with house-made chips and a side of hush puppies. And let me tell you, those hush puppies were like golden nuggets of joy. The waiter, sensing my thirst, convinced me to try a watermelon flavored frozen drink that was absolutely divine.

With each bite of the lobster roll, I was transported back to my maritime adventures on Block Island and in Maine. It was like a nostalgia trip with each delicious morsel. As I finished my meal, I couldn't help but think about coming back for their snow crab legs.

Peacemaker Lobster & Crab is a gem in the heart of St. Louis, a seafood oasis in a landlocked city. I left with a full belly and a heart filled with memories of the sea. Can't wait to return for more...
