First time at a Skippy's, we did dine in. First impression upon walking in was there was nobody in the parking lot but yet there were tables that were dirty and still had empty food bags and drink cups on them, simultaneously as a bus boy was walking around wiping down empty tables which made no sense but ok, walked to the counter to order. The guy who took our order was really nice and friendly, which was great. I jumped around the menu as I have never been to this establishment before and got a gyro, Chicago style dog and mozzie sticks, which after he told me my total I had to do a double take because I didn't realize that they're prices are a little steep.....(my wife got her usual which she loves so I'm only rating my food and experience). We ordered it for dine in but it came in to-go bags. First off was the gyro, it was great! Full of flavor, cooked well, heavy portion of meat which is a plus in my book, onions were fresh and the tszaziki sauce is actually really good. I downed that no problem, no complaints at all on the gyro. The dog, was cold and terrible. Could barely taste the dog, bun was falling apart from sogginess and it just overall was not nice, hard pass. The mozzie sticks, were good. The marinara , was a watery mess. So overall from what I had I'd recommend the gyro and that's about it. But I'll also be going back and trying some more of the menu, and I'll update...
Read moreWe've been going to Skippy's for a few years, and it has been good until recently. Our last visit was the final straw. The restaurant was empty, dirty, and loud. All three televisions in the restaurant were showing something different at full blast. As someone who hates TVs in restaurants, not being able to get away from them no matter where we sat made for a really grating experience.
I went to the restroom after we ordered and, no exaggeration, I've been in campground pit toilets that smelled better than this. There was a five gallon bucket half full of disgusting, brackish water under the sink. The room was filthy, and I couldn't wait to get out of there.
My gyro, when it arrived, was not really that hot. They asked us if we were eating in or taking it to go, and then brought it to us in bags the dude basically slammed onto the table and grunted at us. So even wrapped up in foil, my food wasn't hot.
One of the soda machines wasn't working, and instead of ketchup dispensers (which were taped over with black duct tape), there was just a huge messy pile of ketchup packets on the counter.
Honestly, if we hadn't ordered before I looked around, I'd have left. As is, we most likely won't be going back...
Read moreI’ve been to this place a total of 2 times. The first time was really not bad so I decided to come again. The second time the food was terrible and we didn’t eat anything. The beef was cold and the Dr. Pepper didn’t even taste like Dr. Pepper. We ended up throwing almost 30 dollars of food away so I gave the store a call telling them how I didn’t enjoy it and would like a refund. They gave me the options for either a store credit or a gift card and I said I would rather have the refund. The manager says only the gm can do refunds and they’ll give me a call soon. I get the call and am being told the only way I can get the refund is if I brought the food that had already been thrown away back to the store. If this was the case why wasn’t I told the first time I called? If you enjoy this place then great I’m happy for you. My experience was terrible and I will never be coming back here again when there are other places offering the same food with better quality at...
