China King — Restaurant in St. Louis

Super disappointed with both the quality of food and service. The orange chicken seemed as if it had been soaking in the orange sauce for hours, the breading was completely soggy. It was akin to if you had reheated it a day later. The sauce itself was subpar and only vaguely had a orange taste. We ordered 4 combos of the orange chicken and every one of them was like this so it was no small fluke. I myself work in food service and have made orange chicken before and this was miles away from what I'd consider to be able to serve to a customer. In the process of ordering over the phone I waited for 3 minutes on hold before they picked up the phone and told me that they had completely forgotten about me. They did go on to apologize. I honestly wouldn't have minded this hiccup if the rest of our experience with them hadn't gone so poorly. Over the phone they also informed us that we would be given a 2L with our meal as we had reached some sort of threshold with the amount of food we ordered, however when collecting the meal we were not offered a 2L and ended up going home without one. I had previously ordered from this location no problems, so I gave them more business, larger orders and that’s when I saw how cheap they are. They made a mistake with my hot braise chicken and instead of politely acknowledging their mistake, they had to fact checked and once it was confirmed that the mistake was theirs they wanted to up charge me for their mistake and when I refused and told them that they lost 😡 a customer they decided to rectify their mistake by bringing white rice and asked for the wrong order back. My problem with this entire situation is the returning of the mistaken food. WHAT DO THEY DO WITH IT??? Are we eating recycled food 🍱 yikes 😳. Service was rough at best, pretty slow, they have a small sign that says 10 min my order was 8 and change and they tell me I must buy a soda. Ok fine you have a sign total comes to 9.90.
