My first time going to Clementine's and it was a fiasco to say the least. I was given a gift card for Clementine's on my birthday back in October. Yesterday I decided to take a friend and buy us both some of this supposed dreamy ice cream. They have the "Naughty" that is spiked with alcohol of various kinds and flavors. And they have just awesome ice cream that is supposed to be all natural and no alcohol so it is the "Nice" version of their ice cream.. so I let my friend order first as I was still undecided. And I didn't know how to order as I've never been inside of this place so I was kind of taking pointers from my friend and once we got both of our three scoops each and we go to the cashier she had no clue how to process my gift card for the very place she works. Thank God my friend had his credit card with him and was able to afford the cost because for both of us it was over $15 and that's three scoops of ice cream each. After this ordeal I decided to call the location that was listed on the gift card. And guess what? The woman I spoke to at that location where the card was purchased didn't even know what I was talking about. Apparently since October when this card was issued to me, things have changed and they have turned to a reloadable magnet strip type card instead of a very thick cardboard paper like the one I have. So now I have to go to that location listed on the card and take it to a manager in order to use it because no one else knows what it is and they've never seen them? So the aforementioned is why I only gave it a three. Now if I was just judging the ice cream on its own I would give it a four and a half Stars. You should really try the holiday seasonal flavor called Rugelach..it really is something special... gooey butter cake is awesome and if you like wonderful flavoring without all of the bits and pieces in your ice cream then the honey lavender is the true gem of this...
Read moreUpdate: Because I am crazy about ice cream & Clementines was so understanding, we went back shortly for a re-visit. This time we both got the gooey butter cake and oh my goodness!!! Its so delicious. Its rich, creamy, and everything a dream ice cream would be. Me, my husband and my brother in law all got a pint of it and you should have seen our faces with the first bite. So good! The flavor, the chunks of gooey butter. I had to stop myself from eating the whole pint in one sitting. I’m excited to try other similar flavors. People knock that it’s expensive but you get what you pay for. Its quality. & Clementines cares about their customers. That means a lot & goes a long way! They are worth giving business to.
Husband & i had heard about this place from 2 different people so we decided to give it a try. He picked us up both a pint, i got a nice version, he got a naughty version. Once he told me how much he paid, I almost fell over. But i am one to pay a lot for quality especially as an ice cream fanatic. Unfortunately i was disappointed :( i got the coffee flavor and I felt that it was icy...almost like the consistency of sherbet. I expected creamy and rich. I expected a stronger coffee flavor too. Especially with it being labeled as a “creamery”. My husbands was a better consistency- he got the maple bourbon- but personally i didnt like the booziness. He did though. I was disappointed in the consistency of mine. Other reviews commented about it potentially being freezer burnt- maybe that was the issue? For the price, i expected near liquid gold. Maybe a different flavor would be...
Read moreDecadent is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Clementine's Creamery!
The place is roomy, clean, and leaves you with whiffs of freshly baked waffle cones that come in 4-5 different flavors. I think I tried the Red Waffle cone and it was overtly sweet. Looking back on it, I saw almost everyone at the store pick cups. A good experience nonetheless. Also, because thankfully the flavors I picked were on the saltier side and they mixed well with the cone.
Butter Brickle and Salted Caramel are certainly very rich, very creamy, and very flavorful. The Butter Brickle has the ideal amount of pecans that give you a crunch mixed with the toffees and chocolate that you are bound to enjoy until the very last drop. I also picked the Italian Butter Cookie and though it wasn't as spectacular as the ones I tried in the store it definitely had hints of brown sugar and cinnamon that was caramelized to near perfection (had it not had a freezer burn) and loaded with cookies than ice cream.
I sampled the blue moon and it gave me a sugar rush though I'm sure kids would lose it with this one. The Madagascar Vanilla was a pretty standard flavor and nothing stood out. The next flavors on my mind are Decadent Coffee and the Gooey Butter Cake.
The service isn't the friendliest, but the quickest for sure. Will absolutely be visiting when I have...
