Hatch'd is situated in Princeton Heights, serving brunch seven days a week with a menu featuring breakfast and lunch options like skillets, omelets, house-smoked meats, and much more. The concept comes from father-and-son duo Joshua and Paul Sturma. “I wanted a neighborhood place for the neighborhood I live in,” Joshua Sturma says. "The concept is pretty straightforward: American breakfast, with twists here and there." The service is exceptional; the proprietor, Josh, personally attended to each table, ensuring guests were thoroughly enjoying their experience. Overall, the culinary offerings are outstanding, complemented by robust cocktails, establishing Hatch'd as a highly recommended brunch destination in St. Louis. When we walked into the restaurant on Saturday Oct. 5, 2024, we were greeted by the host. He informed us that it would be a 25-30 wait for seating. There were two other couples that walked in and were seated, however, I don't know their circumstances so I didn't trip, we patiently waited. He finally called us and we were seated upstairs. When we were seated, there were glasses on the table that were FILTHY! We asked the server for new glasses and he responded, "no problem, sorry about that!" We were very happy to see that he noticed the dirty dishes and didn't hesitate to get new ones. The server was initially very pleasant, but in a huge rush it seemed. We ordered our food and waited for our dishes. The staff started to clean around us, and another staff member brought up our food. The food looked amazing but my portion of my order was missing, (my pancake which was part of the order). We reminded the server that my pancake was not delivered with the rest of the order, and he said, "oh, I apologize about that, I will go and check on that." He never did, he proceeded to finish cleaning. We started to eat, and I was about two bites done with my food when we had to remind the server that I still haven't received my pancake. He rushed down to get the pancake, and brought it to our table, apologizing for the error. NEVER did he offer to take something off of the bill or to make the issue right. Remember, he was in a HUGE rush to do everything. We asked another staff member for a replacement of silverware because I dropped my fork on the floor and our server disappeared for about 12 minutes. We had to ask our server for a water fill up because again, he was very busy! He proceeded to put the check on our table as if he was saying, "okay, time to go!" Because my pancake made it to the table so late, I asked for a container to bring it home, and we paid our bill and left. I really, really, really didn't want to leave a tip, however, I have worked in a commission based position before, so I understand having to rely on tips to pay my bills. I am an over 20% tipper because of that normally, however, I tipped about 5% because we received 5% service and effort! We probably won't eat here again, but I think our effort to support a local business was in good intentions.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - “Great” Nestled in the charming enclave of Princeton Heights, Hatch’d emerges as a beacon of brunch brilliance, blending the familiar with the novel in a symphony of culinary delights. Service 🙋‍♀️ Hatch’d redefines hospitality with its innovative waitlist system – a digital concierge that promises minimal waiting amidst bustling Saturday crowds. Once inside, the warmth of service shines through. Sarah, our server, was a gem, ensuring our glasses were never empty and our experience, seamless. The surprise visit from the owner added a personal touch, transforming our meal into a moment of genuine connection. It’s this blend of efficiency and heart that makes Hatch’d more than just a dining spot; it’s a home away from home. 🌟🏡 Decor 🎨🍴 The decor strikes a balance between the familiar sports bar vibe and a more refined dining experience. The main area, with its impressive bar, gives way to a backroom sanctuary where wooden tables and unassuming decor invite intimate conversations and hearty laughter. It’s a setting that doesn’t seek to overshadow the food but complements it, creating a canvas for the culinary art that unfolds. 🍽️🌿 Food 🥘🧀 The brunch at Hatch’d is a testament to the beauty of choice and quality. The ‘build your own’ omelet experience is a journey of flavors, each ingredient a character in a savory story. My omelet, a mosaic of chosen flavors, was a revelation – eggs cooked with a skill that evaded the pitfalls of runniness, embodying the perfect texture. Every bite was a reminder that in the hands of skilled chefs, even the simplest dishes can ascend to gastronomic heights. 🍳🌶️ In Retrospect 🤔 Hatch’d isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a culinary adventure that respects the classics while embracing innovation. It’s a place where every meal feels tailored to your taste and every moment is imbued with genuine care. Final Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - “Great” “Hatch’d: Where Every Brunch Tells a Story and Every Dish Sings a Song.” In a city brimming with brunch spots, Hatch’d stands out as a jewel, offering an experience that goes beyond nourishment to nurture the soul. It’s a must-visit for anyone seeking the quintessential brunch experience in St. Louis. 🌟🌇🍽️

2/1/25. First visit. Forget the heart symbol; this place, hatch'd STL, is the icon for love! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere is a resounding welcome. You can feel it in the air. When the host greeted our party, it was more than getting our name and number for a seat. Our host was engaged in our visit. I missed his name but I won't forget his face for our next visit. The seating is arranged in a manner that makes the most of the space while allowing enough room between you and the table. As we are seated. I hear the humming of conversations all around us, yet not with detail of another's conversation and not interrupting our party. Our server, Brad, is outstanding. He gives descriptions of the menu choices that make it hard to choose, but that is a plus. It makes all the choices a good one. The teamwork of the staff appears like a well-oiled machine. I witnessed staff picking up finished plates with customers at tables and offering refills in addition to the servers. Our table is visited by the owner(s) engaged in our experience. I noticed that other tables were also visited by the owner(s). It is great to put a face to the passion of the place. It is wonderful to know you will see management even when there isn't an issue. From a consumer perspective, this is showing appreciation and care toward customers. Information was leaked during my visit of my birthday so another staff member brought me a special birthday pancake. I did have a taste of my pancake after my meal and took the rest home. It was devoured like a decadent dessert. For my meal, I ordered the biscuits and gravy with bacon, eggs, and fruit. (I replaced the choice of hash browns or grits with fresh fruit because I was attempting to balance out carbs)All hot food was freshly cooked, and the fruit was incredibly fresh. The biscuits were thick, fluffy, soft, and tasted as if they were fresh from the oven. The gravy is unlike any gravy I've ever had. It was the perfect consistency and quite flavorful mixed with sausage. The bacon was cooked to perfection. The eggs cooked as requested and garnished to add a special touch. I highly recommend your next breakfast, lunch, or brunch outing be held at...
