I will preface with this is first time at imos. And my review is detailed. We ordered: Sausage 10” pizza Which the local liked came with nice sized half house salad of lettuce and provel cheese, a tiny hint of shredded carrots, and choice of dressing. Onion 10” pizza which the local liked and came with same salad and rather tasty original Imos dressing. I ordered an 8” mushroom pizza with garlic cheese bread. Very thin crust. Flavor of crust is sometimes sour but mostly like saltines flavor. The sauce: if you do not like Campbell’s tomato soup, you will not like it. I do, so I was fine. Mushrooms taste very much canned. The cheese once again, is provel, which does not bake well in my opinion, which is why it tastes fine in the salad ( Provel is cheddar, Swiss, and provolone.). The garlic bread was baked perfectly and buttered and seasoned well, but I ordered the one with cheese, my mistake.
Timeliness: The salads came out nearly immediately. The bread about 20 minutes later. We ordered at 117 pm and pizzas arrived at 1:42 pm. .
Cleanliness: The lobby was well kept with tables wiped and floor decent. Tables were available, though several tables were not.
Price value: Portions came as stated and were respectively: 12.30, 13.05, and. Mine was 11,25. Coke product refills available at self serve. Bathrooms were clean and smelled mildly of bleach, which usually speakers of kitchen culture. Counter and lobby help was friendly.
I have to say, not growing up eating provel cheese makes a difference to eating here. For me, it tastes like my kids made me a homemade biscuit pizza and used whatever they found. You can taste the cheddar aspect, especially when it is baked, which is different tasting for American style Italian food with mozzarella.
I’m glad I tried this STtL area pizza chain, just for the experience. If I visited again, I’d probably order plain garlic bread and maybe a cheeseless type pasta like spaghetti, possibly the salad, and...
Read moreI would leave zero stars if I could. This is by far the worst Imo's location in St. Louis. We only order from this one out of necessity. Tried it again tonight and was not surprisingly met with disappointment and frustration. They had given us a $5 credit last time due to the delivery being over an hour and a half (on a weeknight - not even during the Stanley cup playoffs), and when we brought that up they "transferred" us to a manager -- we waited on hold for over 10 minutes. We hung up, called back, and immediately asked for the manager (nicely too), and were put on hold again for about 5 minutes. When the manager got to the phone, he was very polite and courteous. He even comp'ed our order (breadsticks and a small salad -- so about $7 worth of food). So, that was nice - Eventually, (like 50 minutes), the order arrived, the delivery guy was nice. No complaints there. But the food? I don't know why it is such a strange request for both ranch AND marinara with the breadsticks, but this location just cannot handle that. It is always one, the other, or in some instances, NEITHER. This time we got double ranch. Whatever. Not that big a deal. Now, onto the salad - or should I just say the 'handful of cheese with a small lettuce bed underneath' because this was not even the slightest attempt at making a salad. There was more cheese on this salad than I have ever even gotten on a large pizza from Imos. It was inedible garbage, in fact. I have no doubt that this was some attempt at retaliation for complaining to the manager. This location needs a lot more supervision. As I said- the manager was courteous and polite - but I don't think there is any kind of leadership over the staff here. It is pretty evident given the quality of the product and the lack of attention to what is ordered. This is a consistent problem with this location and we will be switching to dominoes or some other nasty food when we are feeling lazy. Get your act...
Read moreDisappointment is an understatement for how I feel at this point. I called this IMOS around midnight tonight and ordered food for myself and my coworkers. We are currently at work and SUPER BUSY! So as a reward to ourselves we decided on the very delicious thin crust IMOS. I called, placed the order, received confirmation from the person that answered the phone and was very happy about our food that was on the way! An hour passes and still no pizza! So I place a call to our wonderful (hear the sarcasm) IMOS inquiring about the ETA for the order. I immediately knew there was a problem because I was placed on hold and the manager gets on the phone. Now by this time they are closed so there is no way to replace the order. The manager tells me there is no order and there really is nothing she can do because her driver is gone for the night. Now what’s so disappointing about this is that someone else from my place of employment called and ordered about 15 minutes before I called and placed our order their order was delivered with no issues. So the question I have is what happened with our order? Was it too close to closing time? Did the very unfriendly delivery driver not want to make the trip again? I’ve never really had a pleasant experience with this IMOS every time I’ve called to place an order they are always so rude and if you don’t tip the delivery driver, be ready, she will slam your receipt on the counter with no remorse! So now I have to wonder is this why my order was “never put in” because the last person didn’t tip the delivery driver? I was told about this experience from a coworker. This is also very upsetting because of the amount of money we’ve spent with this IMOS in the past, well looks like we’ll have to start ordering from the one on Forest Park. I will not spend my hard earned money somewhere it’s...
