My friend and I placed three mobile orders on the app at 930pm on 5/15. Upon arriving to the restaurant, there was a line of cars. After waiting 10 minutes and nobody moved, I decided to pull around to the other side of the restaurant by the pick up window. There was a delivery truck and maintenance truck present who said the restaurant is closed, so I asked if anyone was still working and they said yes. On the payment drive thru door there was a sign saying "closed at 9pm". I am curious as to why the app allowed mobile orders if the restaurant was already closed, and why there was no sign at the drive thru stating that the restaurant was closed. I asked the maintenance guys if they could get the person who is working since there were several people waiting for mobile orders and they said yes.
The maintenance guys never got the manager who was inside the restaurant, so I stood at the payment window knocking and waiting for her to see me while she was inside on the computer for approximately 5 minutes. I have videos of me knocking loudly and her not able to hear, whether it was due to the loud rap music she was playing or something else, I don't know.
She eventually opened the window and I said that I see the restaurant closed at 9 but I was wondering why the app let me place a mobile order and she said she did not know and that I would have to return to the restaurant another time to retrieve my order. I asked her if she wanted me to put up a sign at the drive thru to warn other customers and she said she is newer to mcdonalds and does not have any supplies for that
Fast forward to the next day, the tornado happened and they did not have many employees working, so I asked to retrieve my order and they said they are too overwhelmed, and I realized it would be best if I came back another day. I returned Saturday and Sunday to a short staffed restaurant again, albeit that was not their fault due to the unforeseen circumstances.
On Monday I was able to retrieve my order during lunch time and it tasted great and the employees gave me no hassle as they knew that the restaurant had a closing that day.
Overall I am disappointed in mcdonalds for 1 allowing mobile orders to be placed despite the closed restaurant, 2 for lack of signage at the drive thru stating the restaurant was closed, and 3 in the contractors for not helping the customers to at least tell the person inside that there are people waiting at the drive thru, and telling her maybe to put up a sign.
However, one good thing that came from this experience for me was downloading the apps of other restaurants and seeing what deals other fast food places have to offer. I never go to the McDonald's on Lindell because I have a terrible experience every time, and I'll be adding this location to my list of McDonalds to never go to...
Read moreI “ate” here 5/7/2022. I placed an order through the app as I usually did, parked in spot number 3, and notified the restaurant that I was ready for my curbside pickup order. I shouldn’t have wasted my time.
My first clue should have been the 10-car line that was already on the lot.
The second clue should have been the thirty minutes I waited in that spot. Now, I’m a patient individual. And I become relentlessly patient if I have good music on in the car while I wait. For that I am guilty. However, the question at the center of this story is how long would I have waited if I hadn’t looked down at my watch and realized how much time had passed?
I shifted into reverse and headed to the drive-thru to see what was going on. After another ten minutes of waiting, I was greeted with an indifferent voice on the monitor. She wasn’t too flattered or surprised that I had been waiting at this point. It actually turned out that they were short staffed and therefore were not taking curbside pickup orders.
It would have taken a minute possibly to place a sharpie-written sign across the curbside pickup signs stating this fact. It probably would have taken less time to manipulate the McDonalds app to let everyone stippling by that curbside pickup was not open.
Nonetheless I pursued and argued my way to the second drive-thru window. There I was greeted by two individuals who were fully aware that I had been parked and waiting for at this point 45 minutes. I was greeted by two individuals who couldn’t have cared less. I was handed a bag of food and I went on my way.
And the chicken nuggets were cold.
So not only had they known my order was ready. Not only had they known I was present at the restaurant. They also let my bag of food sit and wait for me.
I said I was a patient person to a fault. I still am. But the cold food sent me over the edge and won this restaurant a one-star review.
Stay away.
Oh and McDonalds manager and franchise owner: pay your employees more. Hire more staff. Make this restaurant a place the other McDonalds envy. Don’t just meet...

To the hard-working and honest emps here, forgive the one-star review... and it should be noted that the male employee working the window did seem concerned with what was happening, but was not trained to correctly act for sure... 09-29-2021 7:13pm order55 drive-thru. Order included two apple-pies. Still at the window, we brought it to their attention that we were only given one only to be told that only one was available. We paid for two. We asked if they could substitute a cherry-pie or anything?!?! A refund for the one?! Something?! They apologized stating that they were short-staffed but that's it. No attempt to give us any form of our entire, paid-for order was made. Nothing more was said to us and we were just looked at like we were expected to leave. My partner, to avoid lashing out in anger removed us from the unit. Contacted McDonalds corporate, but they appear not to have a response for me. What a terrible new precedence this is in an already struggling industry! Ownership should be absolutely ashamed of this place. What an embarrassment of a business this place is... and I can't help but raise an eyebrow at the McDonalds brand as a whole. This unit committed THEFT against us rather bluntly. Corporate's lack of response suggests that McDonalds condones this criminal behavior. I will never look at the golden-arches the same again. This kind of thing is why these kinds of businesses are closing at an...
