We loved 9th Street Deli and here's why. 9th Street Deli is tucked into a quiet corner of Soulard right across from Pontiac Park so parking is ready available Star number 1. We met up for our monthly Sandwich Club meeting round 1 pm on a Saturday. Most of our members have never been here so we were pretty excited to try this place out. First thing we noticed is the decor and how clean everything looked. The walls are adorned with what looks to be locally made art. We loved the tributes to some of or favorite pop and rock artist like the Bob Marley mural and the king of pop Michael Jackson paintings.Star number 2. The menu above the front counter is well laid out and easy to read and the sandwich selections although many is not overwhelming with some classic styles like a corned beef and a Philly,Star number 3.The Server was pleasant and friendly, star number 4. The Sandwiches ! Our group consisted of about 10 people and I think we covered a pretty good range across the board. We ordered the Special, the New Yorker , The Americorps Hero, Island, The Meatball classic and the Chicken Philly and a Soulard Club. Everyone was most impressed with their choices. One member that ordered The Island said that it was her favorite sandwich shes had so far with Sandwich Club.(we eat a lot of sandwiches so that's saying something). We cold go on in great detail about each individual sandwich but we would prefer you check out the on line menu and go there yourself. They are all good. They have some great sides to choose from as well. I highly recommend the tortellini salad or the Zapp's Potato Chips. Star number 5. We will be back. For the love of sandwiches....
Read moreWe only found this place because we had a tour to see the horses at Anheuser Busch and this popped up nearby and had great ratings. The neighborhood you drive through to get there is old and quaint. Beautiful brick townhomes. The restaurant/bar is adorable from the outside and really cool on the inside. The decor is local sports but it is spotless. Not sticky at all. Hannah was our bartender and was fantastic. Great personality and even shared some photos of the zoo as we were talking about it. I ordered the “St Louisan” and my husband had “The Nine”. We both RAVED about our sandwiches. The bread was SO fresh and really made the sandwich so much more enjoyable. But the pairing of meats on the sandwiches with the dressings and veggies….🤤. Truly the best Italian sub I’ve ever had and I’m from New England. The fries were good, skin on and homemade and the small fry is massive. Food. Service. Cocktails. Character and...
Read moreNot one employee was wearing a mask Not the cashier, bartender, cooks, server, manager. No one. 😖😣 They are located in St L City where there has been a mask mandate for months. Was uncomfortable with the person who delivered our food getting a foot from my face more than once. Guess they are not concerned about the safety of their community or employees.
Fries were awesome but thought prices for burgers high - $10.50 and did not include fries. Not even a dill pickle garnish. Want fries? Add $4. Large $6.50. Their ice tea was rancid - sitting out too long not refrigerated or need to clean the stainless container. With tip my burger & fries cost $22. Could get great steak, salad, awesome baked potato down street at Tuckers for less.
Not large place. With winter coming & Covid concerns rising- what’s the deal they feel not one of the...
