Urgent Health Concern – Luby’s Restaurant (Stafford, TX)

I am writing to formally express my deep concern regarding a serious health issue that occurred at Luby’s Restaurant located at 10575 W Airport Blvd, Stafford, TX 77477 on today 6/6/2025.

I have been a loyal patron of Luby’s for over 40 years, but after my family’s recent experience, I regret to say that we will never dine at this establishment again. I feel a responsibility to bring this issue to your attention, as it raises alarming concerns about food safety and hygiene.

During their visit, my 5-year-old grandson discovered multiple worms in his broccoli. Initially, my daughter assumed they might be onions or another ingredient, but upon closer examination, she found approximately six worms in his dish. Shockingly, my granddaughter also found worms in her broccoli. My grandchildren are traumatized and have been talking about this all day telling everyone that they come in contact with.

When they alerted the waiter to this issue, his response was to offer a replacement side dish. Given the severity of the situation, this response was entirely inadequate. My daughter requested to speak with the manager, who then offered to replace the meal. Understandably, she refused and demanded a full refund. Given the potential health risks, this incident warrants immediate investigation and corrective action.

Food safety is a critical issue, and I strongly urge Luby’s Corporate and the appropriate health authorities to take immediate action. I will be filing complaints with the relevant agencies and ensuring that this matter is properly addressed.

I request a formal response outlining what steps will be taken to ensure that such incidents do not occur...

I used a credit card w/a chip for my to go food and when it asked for a pin# I explained I didn't have a pin, and hit the X. I explained to the cashier it said 'CANCELLED'. She said that was fine handed me my receipt and food and I left. Another employee runs out to tell me I hit $50 back & I needed to return to get my$50. I said no, I did not because it's not a debit card and I never got such a button. I returned to find out that it was actually canceled LIKE I FIRST TOLD THE CASHIER. I gave her the card, she then punched in each number one by one and obviously did it wrong and again said the card wasn't working. I begged to differ, used another card WITH A PIN, and it was embarrassing, held up the line, and for that employee to lie alot why I needed to return was unacceptable. I was getting into my Mercedes, I verified just for the heck of it, the card had a $3,000 available credit and my purchase was$9. So just treat me with respect and say, 'Ma'am there was a problem with your card, I need you to return please?' There was incompetence not to know what to do if a card has a chip and no pin#. And there was deception to assume that all Black people are criminals and we simply can't be asked to return to take care of a problem. Experience was horrible!...

My recent visit to Luby's was an absolute delight, and it truly hit the spot for classic comfort food! From the moment I walked in, the familiar and welcoming cafeteria-style setup brought a wave of nostalgia and comfort. The atmosphere was clean and inviting, making it easy to choose from the wide array of delicious options.

I opted for the classic chicken fried steak combo, and it was simply perfect. The chicken fried steak was tender and perfectly breaded, and the mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful. I made sure to get plenty of their rich, delicious cream gravy, which truly elevated both dishes. The mac n cheese was also a fantastic side, cheesy and comforting. Every item on my plate tasted fresh and homemade, just like you'd expect from a beloved institution like Luby's.

The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, guiding me through the line with a smile and ensuring I had everything I needed. The service was quick, making it a great option for a satisfying meal without a long wait. It's clear that Luby's continues to deliver on its promise of hearty, delicious, and dependable comfort food. It's a fantastic place to enjoy a classic American meal in a relaxed setting. I highly recommend Luby's for a consistently good and comforting...
