This is probably the longest review I've ever written and may ever write. Let me start by saying that I am not related to the owners nor am I their friends nor have I ever met them until last night (when they came and sat in the back table for a quiet dinner). So this is not a vanity review in any way shape or form.
Our organization rented the entire space of the new Mahesh's Kitchen location for our Diwali party. I was a little trepidatious when the location was booked because it's not like a big party hall or banquet room that we are used to doing our events in. But I went ahead with the group.
First of all, the location was great and perfect for a whole restaurant party. The food bar and appetizers were on one side and the other side was set up perfectly for people to have plenty of space to eat at a table or mingle and have a dance floor.
But the night got better and better. First of all, most of the time you would start off by complimenting the food. But I have to start by complimenting the staff. I am not sure who the manager was but as we were busy running around and trying to get our own items set up in the space, every single staff person was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. If they did not know the answer they would not brush us off to the next person but they would go find out and help us directly. From small things to big things, even in helping us think through the traffic flow, they were perfect the entire night. The bartenders were smiling, The folks doing the chaat station never took a break despite us telling them to, and the food kept flowing. They also had plenty of staff to attend to us so we never had to look around to find someone. Dishes were cleared away very promptly and the place was sparkling the entire night.
Next, onto the main thing which is the food. Maybe it is my pessimism or experience, but usually when we have catered events, I'm used to seeing restaurants skimping on items. The curries will never have enough pieces, the food doesn't taste as fresh or the spice quantities are not right because they're making it in bulk. But not last night. I cannot tell you how robust the meal was and every dish was more perfect than the last. They had an appetizer station with samosa chat and papdi dahi chat, where servers customized each dish according to the preference of the patron. The items were fresh and they did not skimp on even the most expensive items like fresh pomegranate seeds or cashews. At the bar, I asked if they could make something virgin and they gave me so many options to choose from. I ended up taking their recommendation to try a virgin lychee mojito and it was the best choice. Dinner was served buffet style in front of their clear glass kitchen. That is so impressive! And a sign of a high accountability team. Everything in the restaurant was clean and fresh.
If there was any negative moment, there was a slight misunderstanding or conversation with the manager at the end of the night about whether we could take home the items that were remaining in the buffet that we had paid for. But that was resolved after some discussion.
All in all, a 10 out of 10. I have to go back and check them out for a regular meal. My biggest problem will be to stop myself from ordering everything because I already had a taste of how awesome it is. It is great to have a new go-to restaurant for these...
Read moreI recently hosted a special birthday party at Mahesh’s Kitchen in Stafford, and I could not be more pleased with the experience. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfectly organized. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional, making sure all our guests were comfortable and well taken care of throughout the entire lunch.
The ambiance was warm and festive, ideal for a celebration. The seating arrangement was just right for our group size. What truly stood out was the food — absolutely delicious! Every dish, from the starters to the main course, was rich in flavor and presented beautifully. The corn bhel, mango lassi, vegetable biryani, dahl makhani and fresh naan were crowd favorites.
The management went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Everything ran smoothly, and our guests left with full hearts and full stomachs.
If you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion with authentic Indian cuisine and amazing service, I highly recommend Mahesh’s Kitchen in Stafford. The birthday girl is considering going back tomorrow (her actual birthday) with her family because she...
Read moreBased on our previous experience with their original location in First Colony, we decided to try the Stafford location last Sunday. It is in the same location as Otto's Bbq, but totally renovated into a fine dining environment. Parking was also ample and right in front of the restaurant. So far so good. We decided to go for their Sunday buffet, thinking that food would be of the same standard as the regular ala carte dishes. Unfortunately the buffet menu was very standard, and in fact, did not even have the level of taste that we have come to expect. So was disappointing. It is possible that they will improve the buffet offering in the future but at this time it will be hard to try this location again. Service and ambiance were...
