This hotel is gross. The “Response from Business” on another comment regarding the EXCESSIVE HUMIDITY in the entire building says “we understand the humidity in Houston may be too much if you aren’t not used to it” (something along those lines.) Well, I am from the from the area, and the smell of mildew and the stickiness in the air, on the floor, and on the bed let me know there are moisture issues. Aside from that, the beds in two different rooms were FILTHY. Hair, dirt, and what appeared to be stains from makeup were found on the sheets in both rooms. The smell of the linens and furniture is foul, and the towels and sheets were rough. The outlets near the beds are loose, so my only option for charging my phone without unplugging anything else was the bathroom. I was told several times the systems were down and they were having issues switching my room. I was twice given a working key to a room, only to open the door and discover they were occupied. There were police talking to other guests late at night about an incident with their car, and shining spotlights throughout the parking lot, however a security guard came to patrol afterwards. I have never experienced a stay like this. I did not sleep in the disgusting bed, and found myself looking for other hotels the entire night, that were all already booked or too expensive. I cancelled the rest of my stay within 2 hours of arriving due to the conditions of the guest rooms. I did note that “damp room” seems to be a common complaint the desk staff dealt with, and several other reviews reflect that. The only highlight of this property was the SUPER FRIENDLY staff I met with; two young girls working the evening shift, and especially Ms. Patricia who tried every way to provide me with a positive experience despite the conditions of the property. Patricia was extremely hospitable, and genuinely kind. I am grateful for the concern and effort she displayed.
I hope to never have a stay as awful as the one I had at the Courtyard Marriot - Stafford, Texas, and would not recommend visiting this property because of...
Read moreI am a senior citizen of 80+ years. The toilet and sink in your recently remodeled rooms are not user friendly. The toilet is so low I had trouble standing up, and the sink is set so far back it was not easyly accessable, especially with the towel bar in front adding three additional inches to reach the faucets. |On the first evening I phoned the desk to ask for a handicap room, thinking this would be better, and was given assurances our luggage would be moved to another room the following day. Next morning as we were leaving at approximately 8 AM, again we were assured our luggage would be moved to a different room.|I arrived back at 5 o'clock to learn there had been no room change, and there was a portable toilet seat left in our room. This was unacceptable, and not what we were told would happen. |We were offered another room on the first floor, but this room had the same child height toilet, and hard to reach sink. |Susan, the Sales Manager, offerered us a room at the Resident's Inn across the parking lot. This room had one bed, and a pullout sofa, that you could use for a second guest, with "the linens in the closet". This was EVEN MORE UNACCEPTABLE!! |(In all my years of travel I have never stayed at a hotel where I had to make up my bed, with "linens in the closet".)|It is now almost 7PM, I am very tired and very unhappy. I went back to the Courtyard/Stafford, took the room on the first floor with the portable toilet seat and used it help raise me from the very low toilet. I refuse to believe no one has complained about the toilets before now.|It is my opinion that the Courtyard Sugarland/Stafford should replace some or all of the toilets to accomodate ALL your guest. And remove the towel bar in front of the sink for better access to...
Read moreUnfortunately I would give this place zero stars if that were possible. I had booked a room about 3 weeks in advance and the day before the GM canceled my room and put us in an extremely different room. I only caught this because I logged in on the app. I did not receive a call notifying me of the change. I contacted Marriot and the front desk lady was nice but said there was nothing she could do, so she kindly transferred me to Manager - Joseph. He said that they had the right to change my room if they needed to and gave me a discount for doing so last minute, and gave me a discount of $2. I told him that it was extremely unprofessional and they should have at least called because I made arrangements weeks I’m advance all for it to change the day before my arrival. He said I will just cancel your room and you can stay somewhere else and next time to read the fine print. I was shocked! He then hung up, so I called again to make sure the room was indeed canceled and that I wouldn’t be charged because it said if you canceled you would still be charged online.
Then I spoke to a young man named Demarcus or Demetrius and he said if Joseph canceled your room you won’t be charged soooo why are you calling. I explained to him that I wanted to make sure because of what I read online. He said, “ I already told you if Joseph said it’s cancelled it is canceled. Why are you complicating it? “
I was almost in tears because I was so stressed over this whole situation. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!
Thank goodness for the Hyatt in Sugarland! I told them I needed a room for a conference tomorrow and what happened at Marriot they helped me so much and we still were able to make it for...
