One time, on the way to Disneyland, my husband and I took a detour through Stanton area and spotted a Yoshinoya. I’d never tried it in the US so after we got home, we found some coupons and decided to give it a shot.
The coupon was for Southern California locations only and offered two Combo Bowls for $14.75 (normally, one bowl costs around $10).
The Combo Bowl came with a thin layer of white rice, some cabbage, broccoli, and sliced carrots. You could choose two types of meat. I went for fried chicken (four pieces) and regular Teriyaki chicken, while my husband chose beef and Teriyaki chicken (Red ginger pack is free of charge.) The taste was definitely different from what I accustomed to in Asia. Let’s just say it wasn’t refined, but it was filling and the flavor was okay. (I’m not going to complain anything else since I used the coupon.)
I also tried a Thai milk tea with boba for $4.29. Honestly, the flavor wasn’t authentic, so I wouldn’t recommend it.
This Yoshinoya is on Beach Blvd. with a 7-11 on the corner, and maybe because of that, there were quite a few homelessness hanging around outside. My husband and I were followed by one who knocked our car door and asked for money. Sad to see this and I’m not really familiar with this area so I would just say be aware of your surroundings.

Read moreHighly disappointed. They're using a quarter amount of the chicken now I had one broccoli one carrot it has half the amount of rice that used to have they don't use jasmine rice anymore and it tasted old and dry I waited 50 minutes to order 30 minutes to get my food and I drove home and they gave me the wrong chicken they give me habanero not teriyaki. And the coleslaw is very small for the price they're charging they might as well put in the container that's 1/4 of the size of the container that actually put it in. But stingy stingy stingy and all the employees were not happy no one was smiling they're acting like slow robots and ask for extra onions and they said I had to wait another 10 or 15 minutes because I'm using the pan we're drying burnt so they're adding these onions for the food and if somebody wants a side they had to remake it where's the quality control the management skills for the staff on top of that they don't have any more carrot cake. And the cashier was going to have me my drink I'm in a wheelchair and I noticed the cup was uneven but she looked at it and still handed to me and I know the lid will not fit. Management needs to clean house and fire everybody and hire a really productive crew whose 20 care about the corporation and the people who choose to...
Read moreHorrible service, they weren’t wearing name tags and weren’t taking out orders in order like they’re supposed to in FIFO order. Not to mention it took over 5 minutes for the cashier to acknowledge me waiting to order. Then proceeded to tell me that I can’t use two coupons at the same time even if they’re in different transactions. Luckily a customer over heard this and I was able to get both coupons in. As a ex manager here, I would also like to point out they had the lobby loaded with over 6 people waiting for their food and not once did the manager help. She saw them struggling and decided to clock out then to help. Only came here because it’s the most local one to me. But if you’re ok with long wait times and rude employees and homeless people surrounding every corner you’ve come to the...
