I came in on my graduation day from MSU. My family and I all went there to eat. Upon my family receiving their food, my sister had a baked potato that was burned and had black pieces of potato in her food. When we asked the waiter if she could receive another potato, the managers came over and said they won’t replace her food or even take it off of our ticket. My sister had not eaten ANY of the food. As we get ready to leave, the older lady who’s a manger (that barely speaks English) got in my sisters face for NO reason and told her, “we’re not going to replace your food just because you don’t like it!” I had never been soooo embarrassed and ashamed in my entire life. My family had driven over 3 hours to attend my graduation after losing my father and my grandmother…. To be a black family disrespected by the managers and service we received while trying to be civil about the situation, THEY WILL NEVER HAVE MY MONEY AGAIN! My friends haven’t even went back after I told them what happened. They get NO STARS from me! Let it be known that La Terraza is a very racist restaurant. Don’t ever go there to eat if you’re in Starkville. We have 15 other Mexican restaurants here, if they’re all packed, go to Mi Toro...
Read moreWent in and placed a to-go order on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. The manager was extremely rude and wasn’t helpful at all. Told her what i wanted and she acted like she didn’t know what I was talking about. So I pointed to what I wanted and asked her to leave out the guacamole. When I get my order it’s completely wrong. She claimed that’s what I pointed to and she couldn’t change it. While we were taking she kept walking off randomly leaving me standing there not knowing what’s going on. In the end she refused to give me the correct order and told me that I would have to pay for a different order. No only did she give me the wrong food, it also had guacamole on it after I made it very clear I didn’t want it. Oh and they have a “to go” fee. They charge you extra for every single item on your ticket just...
Read moreI have been eating at La Terraza for over a decade, and most recently yesterday. They are the best Mexican cuisine restaurant in town, period. The free chips and salsa are delicious. They cook their fajitas with good spices. Their food isn’t bland like at other Mexican restaurants. The service is good, the atmosphere festive, and the business is run by a very astute owner. They get my modified food orders right every time.
The only thing I’d criticize them for is their recent tendency to slightly scrimp on portion sizes. Lately they’ve been serving up a bit smaller fajita platters than they had been doing previously, doubtless due to 2020s inflation and higher overhead prices. It’s not the hugest deal, but just be aware. Otherwise, this is your best Mexican bet in town. Lots of seating and...
