The salesman made it sound so easy and how helpful they were being after I found out it was a lease that would require me to in the (12 and 5 months time “only 50 dollars down and we will deliver it today “ later plan pay DOUBLE what the cheaply made furniture was worth. Just because I was too eager to have some furniture in my bare new first apartment a simple couch and loveseat went from sticker price of $995 through Acima I would end up paying over $2,000 for the set. The Acima company takes advantage of struggling hard working individuals who can’t pay a large payment at initial purchase by breaking it down into smaller payments over time but charge you double or more what the furniture is even worth. And shame on the salesman for making this sound like a fair and helpful company they are nothing more than scammers. I returned to Acima the couch and loveseat after paying right at $1,000 dollars due to the fact I could not afford to pay 12 more months of $209.00 payments for furniture that worth a fraction of that cost and now I am back to an empty living room and out $1000 dollars to the non refundable “lease” payments I made. Keep mind the furniture I returned was in brand new perfect condition and is probably by now back on the showroom with original new sticker price just waiting for the next gullible victim to buy with “no credit check required “ by the salesman as he makes it sound oh so good to be true when in all reality he knows you will struggle to pay the lengthy payment plan that far exceeds the original sale price by in my case double of what the items were worth. When I did reach out to the Acima finance company directly for assistance I was greeted by a broken English speaking customer service rep who laughed at my frustration and could only refuse to refund me even 100 dollars of my payments because I “should have realized what a lease is” and because they were already processing my January 15th 2024 payment I would not be due a refund even though I called on Jan...
