We had a very good and Interesting lunch today. We first became aware of a new restaurant in Statesboro so we decided to try it. Africaboro is a local small business restaurant that serves Nigerian Food. I have eaten Ethiopian before but never Nigerian. This restaurant as of right now is takeout/carry out only. Ms Nikki is working on getting some tables and chairs for dining. This place is small. The food is delicious and the people are very kind. Arianna Hutcheson and I walked inside not knowing what to expect. Ms Nikki gave us great descriptions of the unfamiliar foods before us. I ask her for a "Full Nigerian Experience" for two. Now please forgive me but I cannot remember the names of the dishes. She gave us some goat, a fish dish, some skewered meat that was very good and very spicy. We received some rice. An interesting dish called fufu rounded out the our meal. We talked with Ms Nikki a bit about the dishes. We learned a lot today about Nigeria and...
Read moreCelebrated my 66th Birthday with my Daughter and Grandson. What a fabulous encounter with Original African Food, as told to me by the owner Nike of its History. I was awe struck with the large amount of food and the variety. I ordered the Jollof Rice with Goat and Jerk Chicken as the main course. The appetizer of Spring rolls were scrumptious. My daughter had the Oxtail with FuFu, as the Entree, and Meat Pie as an appetizer, along with my Grandson Seafood Soup and Coconut Shrimp, their faces where stuck in their plates. The taste of Nigeria was bold with rich flavors and comforting. I enjoyed every succulent taste of food. I will definitely be going back to sample the other Cuisine on the menu. So glad we have an authentic African restaurant in our area that is affordable and won't break your bank. I encourage all people to come out of your comfort zone and taste the wonderful exotic foods of Africa as it relates to all cultures of modern...
Read moreI recently dined at Africaboro, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The food was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was bursting with bold, rich flavors and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The portions were generous, and everything tasted like it was made with care and attention to detail. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every need was met with a smile. They were also knowledgeable about the menu, which was helpful when I had questions about some of the traditional dishes. If you're looking for a culinary adventure that celebrates African cuisine, Africaboro is the place to go. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu....
