Once again, it was a fantastic experience at Vino 1910. This is the second event I have held here. As with the last time, everything went so smoothly. From the outset, Allison worked with me to coordinate a going away party for a close friend. She helped us plan how we would serve the cake, made sure the staff were aware of a few fun things we would be doing to surprise the guest of honor, and even helped me ensure the MUSIC was what we hoped for. I know! We asked a lot of them, and they didn't miss a beat!
Though the staff worked in tandem to take care of us, Kinsley was so mindful of us all night. She made sure we never had empty glasses and took care to make a connection with each person at the table so we felt comfortable enough to get her attention when we needed it. Above and beyond.
I would also be amiss not to mention the owner, Lori. I was in large-scale management for ten years before my current career. One thing you hear preached in management but rarely practiced is that a great leader should never be too good to get in the weeds with their team or do the job themselves. I am happy to say that many "leaders" could take a page out of Lori's book. Getting her attention to thank her and give her a piece of cake before we left took a few minutes because she gave every guest the time and attention they deserved. We wouldn't have had it any other way, and that reinforced my support for this business in ways their (extremely well-conceived) products never could.
I have said more than enough, but one final thought: the wine itself. I don't know much about a lot, but I do know a lot about wine. Their menu allows you to explore such a breadth of varietals, regions, and price points (~$9 - $35 per glass). I would put it in the same category as the wine bars I have been lucky enough to peruse in Napa Valley. I don't live in the area, but if I know my work will bring me here closer to their business hours, I make the time for an impromptu glass or two. If you are new to wine or intimidated by it and want to find something you like, if you are a fan of wine and you want to explore your interests further, or if you are a wine lover and want to settle into a place you can spend a little more on a glass or bottle without being concerned about it not being worth the cost, Vino 1910 will take care of you.
I was already a fan of this wine bar, and I have felt for years that Statesboro didn't know the gem they had on their hands. It is quite clear that the gem is a 5CT diamond that (for some uncanny reason) many people in the area have still not ventured to. Thank you to Lori, Kinsley, Allison, and the rest of the team who continue to take me on an adventure...
Read moreSimply the best place in town. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. I love a good glass of wine, but it's the people who put this place over the top. Don't get me wrong -- the wine selection is excellent. They have a variety of flavor profiles from different regions, so even the most discerning palate will find something here to enjoy. But it's the warm environment that makes Vino 1910 a place...
Read moreMy wife and I were visiting family in Statesboro and stumbled upon Vino 1910. The charismatic owner, Michael Blackmon, happened to be bartending. The wine selection there is incredible, and this sweet owner let us try a few different wines until we found the glass that paired perfectly with the Charcuterie Board we ordered. Will definitely be going back every time we visit and highly...
