El Jalapeño — Restaurant in Statesboro

So, our server was Charlotte. We went inside and very patient and kind in the beginning, but then noticed that she was taking about 15 minutes to get everything for our table. Then, we noticed that she was chilling at the table in the corner on her phone having a good time while we needed refills and more salsa.We started asking for straws because we were missing a few and for some salsa, and she came back with an attitude and was slamming down the rest of our stuff after that. We asked for our checks after our plate were done for about 15 minutes and that still took a minute and then only gave us one pen (with 6 people at the table.) Our server was Laila, and she gave us poor service. We were seated and given menus. We ordered. We waited about 20 minutes for food, which would have been fine if we were ever given chips and salsa. A man brought our food out, and we asked him for chips and salsa because we never received them. He brought them out pretty quickly, and then our waitress finally checked on us for the first time in 20 minutes. Meanwhile, we watched a male server do an awesome job tending to the tables around us. He was checking on his tables multiple times and making conversation. Honestly the worst restaurant in Statesboro. I have never received such bad customer service at a restaurant. I was sat down for over 35 minutes with out being asked what I wanted to drink or order. Then proceeded to ask for the tab for the chips and salsa that is usually complementary just to leave. The server acting like they were clueless about us even being there while they walked passed us countless times. To add to that , the Hispanic manager as we left ,said “tranquilos” which translates to “ have a good one”, as they also had previously walked through looking at tables if they were being assisted and saw that we were there for a a long time and had not be taken care of.
