Newk's Eatery — Restaurant in Statesboro

Okay so as someone who has been to another newks I can definitely say the way this one was built is horrible. The fact that you can see inside the kitchen from every spot in the place is a big disappointment specially!!! When all I’m see is people standing around talking back there and not working. Not to mention no one had a hair net on in the kitchen but one person. It’s also louder in there from the fact that there isn’t a barrier between the kitchen and where customers eat because we can hear everything going on in there. The food was pretty good don’t get me wrong but me sitting there eating and seeing 10 employees standing around and high-fiving each other isn’t something I want to see when I see other customers waiting for food. The silverware had water/soap spots and rust on them. I’d definitely give this place another try later one once they’ve fixed...

It's sad to give this place a 1 star this is after multiple visits since they opened. The food I've eaten is pretty good. This place has fallen to the Statesboro curse of poor service and laziness, already. The pizza my son ordered was so undercooked it was not edible. All of their employees congregate around the restroom. The female employees take their phones in the restroom and sit in there for long periods of time. This makes it impossible for paying customers to use the restroom. The employees also hang out on their phones at the table right outside the restroom. They are loud and obnoxious. I’m not quite sure why this place has 2.9 stars at the moment of this review. I visited Newk’s for first time and it was pretty packed. The service from the staff was friendly and the food quality was great. The prices are fair in comparison to similar restaurants and not overpriced as claimed by some people here.
