Jaxe + Grace Boutique — Local services in Statesboro

I came to the store on Tuesday and this was my first visit. The store is Very clean and has cute options but I felt extremely unwelcome when I visited the store. I wasn’t greeted by the FULL staff like the other guest and I had to go up to one of the workers on my own to ask for help. Luckily she seemed like the only one nice enough to help unfortunately I didn’t get her name. I was looking for bell bottoms in two colors and I asked to try on two jeans the young lady seemed hesitant then set up a room and asked how many garments I had. This was no issue but she didn’t ask the same for another customer. I came out and they all stared at me as if I shouldn’t be shopping there. I tried to look around for tops since the jeans didn’t fit properly. (I’ve been trying to support local businesses )I was also slightly followed by one girl. I wish I could leave a good review but the place made me feel like I wasn’t welcome there so I went to two other boutiques Bleu blush and entourage that were extremely nice...

I really used to like shopping here, particularly at the location downtown when the business first opened. However, since the business has grown and they moved locations, the vibe seems a bit off. I love supporting local businesses and love seeing them thrive. However, it would be nice if the associates were a bit more friendly and didn’t make you feel like a thief by watching every single move you make. It gives “mean girl”/unwelcome energy and it makes the shopping experience awkward. I understand the need to protect the business and I’ve worked retail myself so I understand theft protection, but there’s a way to engage with customers in a way that is pleasant and friendly. I have never felt more comfortable & welcomed into a boutique than J+G! Working for Rachel has changed my life in more ways than one! I have found friends more like family I’ll have forever, that always give me the best advice if it’s an outfit I’m trying to find or if it’s a situation I’m going through in life.
