My sweetheart and I wondered upon this place a few years back after shopping at Agri Supply store and asked them where a good place to eat was and they said Old Times Country Buffet so we went and the food was delicious and everytime we come through Statesboro we go,just went Sat May 20,23 most everything was delicious I got a piece of steak with mushrooms,a piece of catfish, shrimp collards beats salad mashed potatoes and some pineapple delight rice crispy treat, and sugar cookie.I am not one to complain but I think its important to know what paying customers are critecking about your food my steak was seasoned just wright but the mushroom juice was over salted, also the fried catfish was over salted and the collards (bitter and salty)my sweet heart got the fillet catfish and shrimp also and said it was so salty you couldnt eat it.Could not eat the spoiled beats o the piece of rice crispy treat did not taste fresh the butter in it was rank. The sugar cookie tasty old too,but the Pineapple delight was delicious. And the Salad piece of steak and mashed potatoes were delicious and the roll with cinnamon butter ,Although we were disappointed about the price being 39.00 verses Quality of food and because we couldnt find your signature dessert The GRAPE Salad we craved ,which we would get everytime we came through and ate here,The service was great and hopefully next time were hungry and stop by we wont be disappointed because we let you know.Much Love and God bless,Looking forward to...
Read moreWe visited the Statesboro restaurant this evening for the steak and seafood location. I was disappointed when the steak is only available in two types and it’s cooked and under a heat lamp. I tried two different pieces because Steak was the main thing I wanted, and both were like shoe leather, even though it was supposed to be medium. I spoke to our server and asked if I could get a medium rare steak. She checked and was told they would not fix a steak to customer request. I returned to the buffet where they were putting out fresher steaks that were all well done. When I asked the lady who was cooking if there would be more medium steak she rudely replied “yeah I’ll fix some in a few minutes” as she turned her back towards me. I waited nearly ten minutes and more were placed on the bar. Yet again, they were over cooked and chewy. I ended up eating very little, and for a buffet costing $15 I would expect better customer service. I did ask about speaking to a manager but one never came to talk to me. As I went to leave I asked the cashier at the front about speaking to a manager and she told me there were three managers and directed me to a stand that had their business card. Very disappointing with the service, food quality, and lack...
Read moreI made the mistake of coming on a Sunday night. Mine you my husband and o have never been here on a Sunday. We paid basically 30 dollars to eat our dinner. They don't serve steak on Sunday's, instead it's pigs feat and some gross stuff I could care less for. That wasn't the problem. The pork chops were and dry as a board. They hardly had any fried chicken left and once everyone around us had gotten a piece we asked if there was more chicken and they replied NO....thats basically all the meat they had to eat. I eat here all the time and usually have no complaints, but when you pay to eat and then you charge me full price not to have anything to eat. The waitress was lovely, she was very attentive and took great care of us. This whole visit wasn't that great at all. The whole time people in the back were cleaning the floor with a hose while food was still up in the window,it made me not want to eat anything around the bar around the back. They turned off the heating pans for the food at 8pm. I'm not sure what time they close but the least you could do for full paying customers is give them the same service as any other day if the week at any time...
