BE WEARY! MY HUSBAND GOT SICK WITHIN 22 MINITES OF US LEAVING! We went into the restaurant pefectly fine.
My family and I came and visited this restaurant this evening. We wondered why the restaurant was not busy like Texas Road House beside them. Upon entry, we could smell and see why. The place smelled overly strong of old fish and the restaurant was all but empty save for 2 other families we could see. We intertained the thought of just leaving and going elsewhere. Our waitress was less than happy to be working it seemed- though she was begrudgingly nice to us. For as little people as there were in the restaurant, our service was outstandingly slow. I am hoping the waitress was just tired as we do not know her circumstances.
As for food: My husband ordered the Surf & Turf with filet mingon(which was NOT filet mingon as this steak which was badly undercooked and under-seasoned had tendons through it)/lobster tail(that was runbery and over cooked)/bacon wrapped scallops(which had both under cooled scallops and bacon), broccoli and a baked potato. He ordered his steak medium-rare and he recieved pure raw meat in more than half his steak.
My son ordered the choose 2 and got bacon wrapped scallops(bacon and scallops way under cooked) and Walt's favorite shrimp (which were good) with a side of coleslaw(that looked old and he said tasted worse than it looked) and broccolli.
My daughter ordered popcorn shrimp and french fries and a house salad- no complaint there.
I ordered the choose three and ordered broiled flounder(that looked grossly microwaved), broiled scallops(that came out fried) and fried clam strips(which were rubbery and tough at best) with loaded baked potato and house salad.
We paid $140.89 for all 4 of us. WAY over priced!
The little hostess from Massachusetts and the manager were...
Read moreHave been seeing the commercials about how Red Lobster has changed. Thought I would give it a try. In the commercials they say they got the cheddar biscuits right the 1st time. Well, that all they got right. Saw online about Happy Hour and $5 drinks and $2 off appetizers. When I got there and asked about Happy Hour, was told it was only on appetizers. Should have left then. Ordered an appetizer and a Long Island Iced Tea. $27! The drink was $12.95 and I swear there was Zero alcohol. A long island iced tea has several different types of alcohol in it. I get the inflated price, but it should actually have some alcohol in it. I was able to drink it like a regular Lipton Ice Tea. There was also NO DISCOUNT for the appetizer... even having asked about the Happy Hour Discount....Nothing FULL PRICE. Ordered the popcorn shrimp. Even though the quantity was good, the quality was HORRIBLE. I attempted to eat the shrimp....not happening. If I had gone to the grocery store and purchased frozen Gordon's popcorn shrimp, I would have probably gotten a better meal. I know it's not the server's fault the meal was inedible and I would have tipped him 20%. Again, it was $27 and change, I gave him $40 and the correct change. I got $13 back. So he only got a $3 tip. Which was excessive for the quality of the meal, but again, not the servers fault. Servers need to realize if the customer is paying cash the change is probably where the tip is coming from. So the $13 should have been 1 $5 and 8 $1's. Not a ten and 3 $1s. Summary, the commercials are lying about how Red Lobster has changed. Maybe the others around the country have changed. However, the one in Statesville hasn't changed and doesn't appear to be...
Read moreHorrible experience. We totally understood the signs of having low staff at the door and at the host station. We knew we would have to wait and were willing to wait. The waiter had to keep pulling up his pants. We saw his boxers more than once and not just the top of them. We saw ALL of them. He then decided it was almost time to go home so took off his waiter shirt and had a nasty t-shirt on. He, right off the bat, did not recommend the draft beer due to having a problem with a system "For awhile now" We asked for straws three times before we finally got them. We had to ask for plates a few times just to be able to eat the biscuits. The food was horrible. I asked for blackened salmon. I did not get that and the salmon had Zero flavor. My husband asked for regular salad. Ceasar salad was brought. No problem, he goes to get a regular one. He then comes out and says they only have lettuce and cheese anyway and are out of French dressing. Lobster tail was over cooked and spongy. Ordered broccoli but got french fries. Best thing about the meal was the biscuits. New entrees with brussell sprouts were burnt - Both of them!!. Totally understand these trying times where people don't want to work since they are making more or the same if they were to work. We were willing to wait. We appreciate those willing to work. We tip VERY well...usually. The prices were way to high for this nasty dining experience. No pride!!! COME ON PEOPLE - We can...
