American Deli — Restaurant in Statesville

You can’t eat inside. Impossible to order online. Menus they hand out do NOT match what they will serve. Calling in the phone is no better. The person answering doesn’t listen. You are repeating yourself over and over while she says back to you items you DID NOT order. Come inside and get some of the same treatment. You can only say “Boneless” so many times until you begin to think you are being filmed for a comical tv show. To top that off the wings are TINY. Small does not properly describe the size of the wings. While waiting hear two customers ask for salads. Of course they no longer serve those either. Traditionally I love this place. Generous with the fries and food is awesome 9/10 times I order. Bad reviews are from customers who don't understand the industry. Doordash charged you too much not American deli. Geez its like no one can read a receipt. Doordash charges you like 35 bucks in fees. Your order is cheaper if you aren't a bum and go pick up your food personally. Covid protocols and short staffing impact a small business' ability to keep traditional hours. 1st visit ... first off it was hard to see at night because they did not have the exterior sign lit up, they had a few customers inside so did not know what the wait time would be, customer service was fair, waited over 20 minutes to get our food, they had a good variety on the menu, the Philly steak was actually pretty good, the wings were small but tasty, fries were good and crispy, my daughter said she enjoyed the gyro she got, overall the food experience was pretty good, facilities were okay the tables were dirty but this place seemed to attract some shady characters, not...
