Went because friends went in the past and liked it. My potatoes weren't hot; the sandwich was ok. There were two people cooking and one taking orders and assisting the cooks. There were a lot of people waiting and the place isn't well laid out. They should consider moving the coffee area away from where people queue up to order and pick up their breakfast. Customers go outside and no one goes out to deliver food. You order at the counter, pick up your own food and return your trash when you finish, and no one checks to see if you need anything, which is fine, but there are tip jars at the front, and when you pay by credit card you are asked if you want to tip 15, 18 or 20 percent. Tipping culture in our country has gotten out of control. I am a 20% tipper (more if someone goes above and beyond) in a restaurant where someone takes my order, delivers my food and checks on me. I find it distasteful (pardon the pun) that a place that puts the customer in charge of every aspect of their meal, has the audacity to even suggest tipping. Tipping is a practice of showing appreciation for service, but the only thing they did was cook my meal; there was no service. Additionally, it was expensive. Three adults paid more than $60 for two portions of waffles and a breakfast sandwich. Staunton is a quaint little town, so higher prices are to be expected, but I think that $60 for breakfast should at least come...

I’ve had waffles before, but nothing prepared me for the waffle wonderland that is Sweet Addie’s! Tucked away on Beverley Street, this cozy little gem is everything you didn’t know you needed—until you bite into the Sweet Mother Clucker. 🧇🍗
First off, the waffle? Absolutely perfect. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and holding up like a champ to the BBQ fried chicken, sweet pickles, pickled onions, and that next-level SweetNanaCakes pimento cheese. And let me tell you, the spicy maple syrup? I’m convinced they bottled up happiness and drizzled it on my plate. 🔥🍯
The playlist was on point, making me feel like I was in my own little happy food movie montage. The staff? The kind of people who make you feel like family, even if it’s your first visit. Warm, gracious, and just plain awesome.
If you’re in Staunton for the Queen City Mischief and Magic Fest—or honestly, for any reason—don’t just treat yourself, spoil yourself with the best waffles on the planet! Sweet Addie’s, you’ve got a fan for life. 👏 P.S. anyone who has left them a less than superb 5 star review should consider dining at Azkaban - because it’s criminal not knowing greatness when you’re smack dab in the...
Read moreSweet Addie’s Waffle Shop made for a perfect brunch date spot for my wife and me. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere struck a charming balance between cozy and modern. Warm lighting, inviting seating, and cheerful staff created a welcoming environment that immediately set the tone for a relaxing spring morning.
I ordered the savory Carne Asada waffle, which was both hearty and flavorful. The steak was tender and well-seasoned, paired perfectly with fluffy eggs, melted cheese, fresh pico de gallo, creamy avocado, and a zesty huacatay sauce that brought it all together. A squeeze of lime added the perfect final touch. My wife went the sweet route with Addie’s Fav—an indulgent treat featuring Belgian cookie butter spread over a crisp waffle, topped with strawberries, bananas, a generous swirl of whipped cream, and a drizzle of chocolate sauce. It was as delicious as it was beautiful.
As we enjoyed our meal, we looked out the window at blooming trees bursting with pink and purple blossoms—an idyllic backdrop for a spring brunch. Sweet Addie’s isn’t just about great waffles; it’s about the experience. We left full, happy, and already planning...
