El Trompo Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Stephenville

Food was bland, customer service was very much lacking. It was clean, but wasn't set up in a way to understand or see the menu to order, stated it was my first time there, was pretty much ignored with no assistances or suggestions on the menu and felt judge by the two female worker's as i was an inconvenience to their time. There menu is huge above the ordering counter with no space to step back and actually see it. There's also no oder to the menu, I ended up ordering shrimp tacos, simple enough but the shrimp had no seasoning and were soked in pico de Gallo, which wasn't shown on the picture of the shrimp tacos they had on there menu, im not fond of Pico and would have asked to leave it off and it was really wet and a green Salsa that had no spice or much flavor to it at all, was disappointed for the price of 3 very soggy non seasoned tacos. Was also charged 7$ for a bottle of coke, just crazy....

Let me start our and say the food is delicious. But I don't believe you get what you pay for. I had a DoorDash delivery to my house, as I was working on my boat, and didn't want to go all the way into town. I've never had food from here before, but it looked good. In regards to chips and queso, I got about 8 chips and a cup what tasted like canned melted cheese for $4. I ordered gorditas for my wife and I, my favorite mexican dish, and got 1 each, no sides. That's fine and all, but for $11 a piece, I'm not going to lie, I was expecting 2 with rice and beans like most places. The gorditas were delicious, but what you get is a huge dissapointment, and I definitely did not get $25...

I had the chicken in habanero taco salad as I wanted a low carb option. This was not the place to ask for that as it was plated more like a platter rather than a taco salad. My chicken was actually overcooked and dried to the bite. My food really had no flavor and the salsa that was supposed to be spicy was just heat with no flavor at all (not really spicy though, just acidic) The service was really good though and they tried their best. They were very friendly and tried to accommodate but I think most people just go in there for burritos and such. The atmosphere was nothing out of the ordinary, just tables and music. A little loud on the music but...
