I was celebrating my brother's birthday, and he really wanted sushi. Coming here was a great choice; the restaurant has fair prices, it has good service, and the sushi was delicious.
The fried jalapeno was unlike any I have had before. Other restaurants will have that frozen nonsense. But that was not the case here. It came with spicy crab and spicy sauce on top of the traditional cream cheese. The presentation of this appetizer was more than what I expected. It was atop of fried noodles which I had never seen anything like that before. I would definitely order the fried jalapeno again!
The tempura here was a sensation for taste buds. The tsunami was my absolute favorite; it is a shrimp tempura deep fried with cream cheese, and it is topped with spicy crab and spicy sauce. The tsunami was perfectly balance with it flavors. The salmon tempura was my runner up. It was just the salmon with teriyaki sauce, but that was all it needed.
The salad roll was something different and I am glad that I tried it. This roll was huge! The Japanese pickle were a nice compliment to the other vegetables (avocado, cucumber, asparagus, and carrot).I am not the most skilled person in using chopsticks. The salad roll was a bit of a challenge to grasp when using the chopsticks, But I pulled it off.
The service was good, and the prices here were better than anticipated. The total bill for the nine different rolls and one appetizer was $68.22! I was extremely shocked...
Read moreI've been here a total of 3 times, and all experiences determined the rating of this review.
The dining area isn't super large, so just in case they're packed, have a backup (better safe than sorry) plan!
1st time: Came here for a date (first time), and while it was a crowded Saturday night, we were waiting for about 5 minutes before we were seated, which wasn't a bad wait at all. Our food was very yummy (sushi, spicy noodles, dumpling soup, salad), the wait staff weren't bad, but it is a tad hard to understand what they're saying, as their native tongue (more than likely) isn't English, which makes sense. The overall experience was pretty good!
2nd time: Came here with a small group of friends on a Monday afternoon- less busy, almost baren. This was the time when I found out that this place doesn't have a restroom (via one of the people in our group). Service was good, but one of the people in our group didn't exactly liked what they had, although I loved my food. Overall experience was pretty okay!
3rd time: Came here once again for a date, and unknowingly tried out the salmon sushi with fish eggs on top. Everything was yummy, but the texture of them threw us off- just personal preferences! Staff could be a little more attentive.
Tl;Dr (Too long, didn't read): Food isn't bad at all, it probably depends on who's in the kitchen that day. Would recommend to folks who like...
Read moreSushi and food are delicious! But lately service has been poor! Came here for years because this is my go to sushi place!! Went today and got a young lady who usually works there because she served us in the past, but once we were ready for her to put our order in, she didn’t repeat our order or asked if we wanted anything else. Usually they look over the sushi we chose and ask if we wanted anything else but she just walked off. She didn’t even ask us if we wanted soup or salad. ( usually they do that). But She gave us our salad but not our soup. When we got our sushi ( young man gave us our sushi), we asked if we could get our soup. He came back with our soup and the young lady didn’t even check up on us . We were half way done with our sushi and still haven’t checked up on us. ( It wasn’t even busy ) she didn’t even refill our water, she didn’t come and ask us if we need any boxes and she didn’t even give us our bill. I had to go up to ask for a box and our bill. The young man was very kind and helpful since our waiter couldn’t help! Happened not once but many times. I’m a forgiving person so that’s why I gave her other chances but this time is the last time I would let...
