Actually there is more - from a parent’s point of view. There are adult students at Family Karate Academy, but alas that’s not me...yet. Master Kaz is not “like those other teachers at school” because he cultivates respect from even a large class of all levels of students. He has just the right mix of discipline, expectations, encouragement, and even humor to guide the kiddos. Plus he runs the classes in such a way that I - and even my 2 year old daughter- enjoy watching them. Master Kaz knows everyone’s name - and their parents names. I had gotten my son in karate to help him boost his confidence and not let a child at school keep picking on him. He was skeptical and didn’t think he would like but now he loves it! Master Kaz has helped in so many ways, not only karate and good life skills, but also be an amazing male role model that has basically became family. The kids had formed long lasting friendship, along with the parents. It is a unique place, like a second home, and soon I will be taking lessons too. It’s not just a business, it’s Master Kaz’s home that he opens up to so many, guides child and treats them like his own, helps families with situations not related to karate, and makes a difference in people’s lives. I found Master Kaz by luck at the age of just 12. Little did I know then how much impact his teachings would have on me in the future. The discipline, confidence, integrity, perseverance and hard work pays off mentality that he has instilled in my mind really shaped the successful and driven individual I have become today. I found myself hearing his teachings echoing in my head growing up as a child which contributed greatly to my making all the right decisions in life. About 24 years later...
