China Garden — Restaurant in Sterling

China Garden is a small takeout place but it has a few tables. When we walked in my daughter was skeptical at the appearance of the place. It is your typical takeout joint.Not what many people would consider for dining in. I guess I am more willing than most people to eat at such a modest place.

However, when the food came out it was hot and fresh and very good. I knew it was fresh as I could see in the kitchen and they were very busy. My daughter's plate was particularly pretty in its presentation. She declared it her new favorite place. The one minus we would give is the lack of hot tea. Beyond that, good food if you don't mind the atmosphere.

UPDATE: China Garden is our "go to" place for take out Chinese Food. We live close by and often order carry out. The food is usually ready in 15 minutes and it tastes as good as it was the first time visited. It is a great little take out place.

UPDATE 2: 2021. We moved away from Sterling some time ago, but still have fond memories of...

First time ordering from this place. The online ordering doesn't allow you to place an order until 11:49. So I called them. Lucky I did they were out of 1 of the items I ordered. So I told them I would call them back. Within 2 min the order taker called me back and said she was mistaken. They actually did have chicken wings. When it all got here....the chicken wings were nothing like I have ever received from any Chinese restaurant. They looked like some frozen prebattered fried wings. And smelled like it too. The portion I received of the main dish I ordered was half of what I get from other Chinese restaurants in the area. I called and got a refund for the horrible...

Mostly onion, little meat, terrible customer service. I do not recommend. I’ve eaten at better Chinese restaurants than this, and I’d prefer to get what I pay for.

Recently ordered Mongolian Beef and it was more onion than beef. I called China Garden and told them I wasn’t satisfied with my order and their response was “that’s impossible”. They proceeded to say that I could bring it back if I didn’t want it. I ordered delivery and paid for doing so, so bringing the food back to China Garden was not an option I was willing to consider. I will take my business where I can get what I pay for and get better customer...
