For any of you who have been following me or checking out my other reviews you know I'm a lover of Vietnamese food in general. While in Virginia I decided to try this restaurant and the first thing I noticed is the prices of Pho in general have greatly increased over the years to a point where it's ridiculous. It seems the average cost of pho nationwide starts at around $15 for a bowl. I swear I'm going to move to Vietnam. Anyway the first thing I noticed was with the food is that it was a very small portion of noodles in my large bowl of pho. The person I was with ordered extra noodles on the side and I thought they were being greedy until I got my bowl. The flavor of the broth was pretty good little on the sweet side for me, but overall the taste was flavorful and beefy. There's a decent amount of meat in it. It's amazing for every region that I go to the different veggies to have on the side for the table. This particular location did not have culantro, but no problem.
Overall I was satisfied with the pho and the service that I received. The suit did come out piping hot and the noodles were not overcooked and were tasty. I say...
Read morePho Royal in Sterling is a solid choice for Vietnamese comfort food. I recently stopped by with family, and we enjoyed a variety of dishes. The Crispy Fried Egg Rolls were a standout—crispy on the outside and flavorful inside, served with a tangy dipping sauce. The Pho Chin Nam Gau Gan, featuring well-done brisket, flank, fatty brisket, and tendon, had a rich broth and tender meats. However, I noticed a bit too much MSG in the pho, which was a bit overpowering.
We also tried the Bun Bo Nuong Xa Cha Gio, a rice vermicelli dish with grilled lemongrass beef and an egg roll. The beef was well-seasoned and grilled to perfection, and the egg roll added a nice crunch. The combination of flavors was satisfying. The only downside was the wait time; it took longer than expected for our food to arrive, even though the restaurant wasn't too busy.
Overall, Pho Royal offers a variety of flavorful dishes in a casual setting. While the MSG in the pho was a bit much and the wait time was longer than anticipated, the quality of the food and the friendly staff made up for it. If you're in the area and craving Vietnamese cuisine, it's...
Read moreThis is for the One Loudoun Location only (I have been to the original location which has always been great). Waited for quite a while before we could get a water. After getting our water, we waited even more... a waiter finally came to get our orders but we still have not gotten any menus.... Once we were able to order our food, it took another unusual amount of time before we could get served (it was only 4 people) and they messed up one of the order pretty bad... Almost spent an hour in there and had to leave cause I had work to do, else I am sure I would have been there for 1.5 hours. Now, the major issue: My bank emailed me about an unusually generous tip I had left at a restaurant (I let you guess where...). So I had to contact my bank and dispute the charge.
Needless to say, this place will not see me ever...
