Deeevoted is Deeelicious. Thoroughly enjoyed our Shoyu Ramen and Tori Paitan Ramen. Plus a plate of the day's special pork & shrimp dumplings—one of my favorite parts of the meal but it was all good. Everything tasted fresh, fresh, fresh. Seasoned egg in my ramen was on point—cooked a tiny bit less than I was used to in Japan but excellent flavor. The pork belly was tasty and tender. Traditionally, the most important thing in ramen is the broth, and the broth is good; I don’t like to leave a drop behind.
Family-run business and they bring you inside the art of their food; see the videos on their FB page. They are also posting the weekly menu there (at least while they build up their business and get things rolling?). Lovely interior, looks legit ramen bar, except so sparkly and new! Beautiful local wooden plank table surfaces. Looking forward to trying Citrus Shio Ramen next time. And one of those rose pink lemonades in the fancy bottles. (Update: Both are great! Floral highlights in the lemonade. Nothing disappoints here.)
They are now offering carry-out, according to note by market register (12/14/21). They had noted that carryout isn’t ideal for ramen since texture of the noodles is important (firm not soggy) so they should be eaten immediately. I would like to see them offer a full order of dumplings as a main entree option—I think they work great as carryout. Where I used to live, we ordered them by the dozen for an easy evening meal.
By the way, bring an Asian recipe you've always wanted to make—if there's a line, you can look for the ingredients in the Crepe Myrtle grocery store (aka CM Asian Market) out front while you wait. (For starters, try a jar of Laoganma Spicy Chili Crisp and look up a recipe with green beans—I don’t even like spicy stuff but love this.)
Or buy some Asian drinks to take home and enjoy with a movie… Thai iced tea, lychee aloe, Japanese milk tea, coconut milk drinks, etc. Or snacks. My wish is extra-hard, double soy sauce flavor Japanese sembei crackers like at 7-11s in Japan but any sembei will do.
If you get there early enough in the day you can pick up a Hawaiian-style musubi by the cash register for an oh-so-tasty...
Read moreDevoted has been on my radar for a hot minute, and when the weather turned rainy and cold, I knew it was time to seize the opportunity to see if it lived up to the hype.
It did that and then some.
Tucked away inside the Crepe Myrtle Asian Market, it would be easy to miss this, quite literally hidden gem.Once you've made it all the way back. You notice that the vibe and decor changes. They did a wonderful job remodeling the back space into a cozy restaurant (seats maybe 25).
We got there at a good time, as there were only 4 groups ahead of us, and a line of 30+ people quickly formed behind us. We signed up on their paper sign-in sheet (important not to miss this step) and waited 20-30 minutes while chatting with people in line.
Once inside, we tried the Takoyaki to start. Delicious.
Since it was chilly and wet outside, I opted to try the Chili Shoyu Ramen.
There are not many places that I'll rave about, but I've been raving about how out of this world good this ramen is.
The broth is divine, and the texture of the noodles is perfect. Even though this version of the shoyu ramen is spicy, it isn't overwhelmingly so. Just enough to be enjoyable and open up the sinuses.
My bowl was completely empty at the end. You better drink the broth.
The service was friendly and checked on us often, and it's a wonder watching the well-oiled machine that is the 7-8 man team that is devoted.
I will be back, and you should go if you have time to spare. Just be prepared, the tempting aromas will definitely stimulate your appetite...
Read moreI have had ramen across the states, some disappointing, some amazing. Let me tell you Devoted sits on that amazing list! At first I was a bit lost as you have to enter the Asian Market but head straight back to this fancy doorway and the restaurant awaits. Beautiful venue with nice fancy walls, chairs, custom wood table, and atmosphere.
The friendliness of the server was astounding and gave us options to wait for seating at the bar or sit at the table now and have other customers among us which brought that Japan ramen house vibe.
I had the Shoyu and everything was delicious. The ingredients fresh and juicy, the meat was just slightly tougher to tear apart than my liking but none the less delicious. The eggs were whole and not sliced so you got the full thing seasoned right when you cut it open or bit into it. The noodles were just right and the broth I had to slurp up to the end for it's goodness.
🍜 I highly recommend this spot as Stillwaters greatest ramen spot hands down. I will be returning to try more menu items and bowls and update my review as I experienced more items. Great job...
