Delicious, great atmosphere, clean. If you want a good burger or Kosher dog in town, that you can customize and top with a large assortment of options, this is your place.
ATMOSPHERE: The atmosphere reminds you of a 50s dinner with the checkerboard floor and tables with vinyl seats. The colors are red, black, and white. The bathrooms are single person use, large, and easy for ADA access chairs to move about even with an assistant. There are double doors to enter and handicapped tables around the establishment as well. The walls are arranged with news articles and awards pertaining to the Five Guys establishment, as well as a historical journey through the process. There are peanuts, tons of boxes of peanuts for people to scoop and snack on while they wait. Also, not to be forgotten, the music is great- generally alternative 90s/ early 2000s songs people from 35-45 miss.
STAFF: The team presents as five employees who are the typical fast food fare employee. They are however exceptionally friendly, helpful, patient, kind, and hard working at the station you can see behind the counter. There's a person flipping burgers, one dressing them, one doing fries, the clerk, and another running person - even if the store isn't busy. Keeping a place staffed this nicely is a big plus.
FOOD: the burgers are thick, juicy, and delicious. The double is almost too much for this big eater. The hot dogs are so good that there are times I go for a burger, change my mind, and am never disappointed. They give you an entire large brown bag of fries, cajun or original flavor. These are shareable. Condiments are near the drink station. You can add just about anything to your sandwich, such as: bbq sauce, grilled mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, grilled onion, relish, ketchup, mustard, mayo, cheese, grilled peppers, fresh peppers.. it's delicious!
Drinks: They have hand crafted shakes with real fruit ingredients prepped daily, or chocolate, or peanut butter, or any mix you prefer. Banana caramel shake, oreo coffee shake, chocolate peanut butter shake, strawberry - you pick! If you're in for a soda pop, they have the big kahuna unlimited choice coke machine, even including orange vanilla coke zero and ginger ale options. There are vitamin water selections and plenty of non caffeinated drinks.
PRICE: The price doesn't compare well with McDonald's dollar menu, so that would disappoint. Then again in my opinion it's worth it. 3 full double cheeseburger meals, 3 drinks, 3 signature shakes for dessert, and 2 fries runs us about $50. You might want to take $15/ person unless planning to share meals - which is do- able and you'll...
Read more1.The place is spotless. I mean spotless. The minute you get up someone is there to wipe your table and someone is there to sweep the floor around you. I mean, there’s hospitals not as clean as this five guys. The atmosphere of the entire place is just fun and easy going! I love taking my family there and my grandkids love the music and the fact that they can be loud! I’ve worked in a lot of restaurants and been to even more but not once have I heard of the general manager coming and offering me a refill or taking my trash. I asked him what he did there and he told me he was the general manager and I about dropped my jaw. The fact that he’s willing to come down and pick up trash and help out says more than enough. The food. The food. The food. The food!!!! It’s soooo expensive compared to McDonald’s or Burger King. But it’s soooooooo much better! Anyone that says this is a fast food joint is wrong. This is a quality restaurant with freshly made food. Reminds me of a habachi Japanese restaurant that has the same style open kitchen. I came in and went to order a shake then realized I didn’t have the cash for the shake I wanted to try. And the same store manager who took my trash a week before asked me if I had tried one of our shakes before, I told him no and but didn’t have enough cash on me and he told me it’s on the house and to give it a try!!! I LOVED the shake. Getting one every time now!!. THATS CUSTOMER...
Read moreTwo stars only because the employees were nice. I'm sorry but I have to be blunt and maybe a little brutal. So my husband and I both got bacon burgers. The issue I had was that the patties themselves were not seasoned. No salt or pepper nothing. This made the burger not tasty. You have to use salt and pepper with meat like that bare minimum. It brings out the flavors of the ingredients better. No one enjoys bland food.
Also, I know you guys wrap the burgers in foil but they should be lined in paper. The reason for this is to keep the buns from getting super soggy. The buns on our burgers were so soggy when we got home they were mush. Oh and it took me maybe 5 minutes to get home from the restaurant so it wasn't a long drive at all. Very disappointing.
I'm pretty sad about this experience because I went to one of these restaurants in Florida and it was a whole other ball game there.
One last quip. I know you guys are expensive but like 3 years ago I bought food from y'all in Florida and it was like 3-4$ for fries (the regular size) and 6$ and change for a bacon cheeseburger. I think it's astronomical to come into a college town like Stillwater and charge 30$ for two normal fries and two bacon burgers. But hey, I don't own the company. If it works, that's fantastic.
Sorry if you thought I was mean. Honesty is the best...
