I was excited to try the Stillwater Keys Cafe two weeks after opening since I had heard good things about the Hudson location. My wife is on a diet and had the BLACKENED STEAK BITES appetizer as her meal. It was just a few steak bites. She was not expecting a steaks worth but got 6-8 small cubes. It was served on what they call onion strings. (They are like the onion straws you get on a haystack burger). They were cold. The waitress explained they are cold and they just pull them out of "bucket"..her words not mine. I ordered a MONTE CRISTO. The bread itself was very much like french toast that had been heated in a microwave. There was no crispness. It was moist boarding on soggy bread. I would normally give a restaurant another chance but this was too disappointing for the prices ($60 plus drinks not including tip). On a final note the older couple on a table across from us ordered right after us and we had nearly finished our meal by the time theirs came. Their body language said it all as they were tired of waiting as you could tell by their crossed arms and frowns. I also overheard the table behind us have an issue with their meal but the poor server had to explain to them that the cook does not speak English so she could not explain it to him. The servers were all very nice but the food quantity and quality vs. price does not warrant any more stars. I waited one week to review to be fair and not...
Read moreMy 3 most recent meals. 1. Sweet potato fries with my order - asked if they were "spicy", advised they were not. They were very heavy on black pepper, and what I would call spicy. But worse was that they were very soggy. 2. Two take out meals - grilled sandwiches with fries. We don't like pepper, so requested NO pepper on the seasoned fries. Unfortunately it was interpreted as no seasoning at all - got home and we had nothing on the fries, not even salt. 3. A few days ago, I added hash browns to my French toast/egg/bacon meal. A couple bites and I left them - the crunchy bits had that burned/old/ bitter oil taste - not good. So far with these meals, and quite a few more - the food has been usually OK, but not exemplary. I will continue to eat there - as service is good, servers and bus staff are friendly, food arrives pretty quickly, some items are always tasty - like the hot turkey sandwiches, the desserts - especially the house chocolate cake are to die for! I will accept a so-so entree, just to take home a piece of that cake. Once my dining friend was unable to show up after a long time waiting, and I chose to order some take home - I was given a free piece of cake with my take home food!! So even with some disappointments, I will return. Note that the overhead music is my generation, I recognize it all...

We were there for lunch. Typically, we have exceptional service. However, this wasn't the case on this visit. The waitress (Anna I believe) had zero personality. She never once smiled or even made eye contact. Before we could even sit, she was asking what wanted to drink. My guest didn't know the menu off the top of her head, so settled for water. The waitress was rude to the gentleman sitting across the aisle from us. He apologized for forgetting to ask for fruit for his pancakes when he ordered. He was an older fella, it happens. But instead of being polite, she was rude and I felt bad for the guy. A good server needs to be flexible and polite. Better yet, they should be personable. I tipped her, only because I wasn't sure if she's supposed to split tips with others and it wasn't their fault she's sub-par.
A server is a representative of the business. If you're served by a robot it reflects poorly on the restaurant. If this was my first visit to Keys, it would've been my LAST! Next visit, I refuse to be seated in...
